Missed L & L but not Top Gear

Unfortunately I did not see Lock and Load's reminder thread about his star performance until after his show, but thanks to Peter McKay in Saturday Herald's Drive, I now know when Top Gear is on, and fluked the rx8 test thisafternoon. Some friends in the UK had told me it was a pretty good wrap: hard to disagree with them.

For any desperates, I videoed both Top Gear and 5th Gear (Lifestyle Channel 5pm, straight after Top Gear BBC 4.30)

the Top gear review was very good, got a bit scared when the Stig was throwing it around the track but the results were awesome, equal with the 350Z and the M3 at around $80k less. Thought that on 5th Gear Tiff was a bit TOO complementery about the 350Z, even before he got in the car, I feel that the 350Z is going to look VERY dated in the next few years.

Can anyone wideo capture them to mpeg etc? I didn't get to see either, but would love to.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Can I have a copy of the 5th gear video? If I send a empty video in a package with 10 bucks in it will you do it for me?

As a 'umble farmer, the best I can do is post you the video, Hymee. This forum is about as tech as I ever get - still can't add an avatar, nor attach a pic.

(I reckon my spelling is better than most, tho'.)

Email me your address.

jack.

Are you that way?

I guess not all of us have broadband connections. Because of Telstra , we can't get broadband at work. At home, 56k is good enough for email and my limited use of the internet.

However, I did tape the Top Gear segment (on a recently purchased 6 head stereo VCR - we are late adopters!), so if anyone in the Brisbane area would be willing to transfer to DVD, they can P/M me to arrange sending the tape. I'd like it on DVD for posterity, too.

Labrat,
If I recall correctly your are only about 1.5k's from my work, and we have ADSL... but it is not through Telstra

You should actualy be closer to the exchange I think, so there is no reason that you can;t get it. PM me if you need the details about our connection...

Hi MadMax
Don't ask me, ask my partner; he's the computer guru here. I think it has to do with the connections they provided for this estate. I know he has hammered Telstra pretty comprehensively about this. If you want to borrow my tape, drop around some time.
