Damn I hope so, looking at some of the pics with it on make it look even better! I'm holding off getting the factory front air damn, skirts and back bit until I see if the mazdaspeed kit is available. Even if the official one doesn't make it here, I'm sure there'll be after market kits available like it soon.

At the Melbourne drive day, Mazda said that the polished alloys would be coming, but were unsure of timing!

confused

We were a little confused about the polished wheel comment at the drive day. I missed this as I was busy walking around with my daughter at the time and the explanation I got from the girl later was a little limited!

They aren't in the accessories brochure as an item, however it appears that some of the photos feature them? Are they an either or option or do they expect you to buy them in addition (which would defeat the point)? Any clarification could help.

The word on the Polished wheels is that they will become available as an option instead of the one's that are currently on the RX8.

They will be become available in a few months but no specific date given.

It's a shame they are not avalable now as i like them but hey.....thats one of the pitfall's of pre-ordering.

As far as the Mazdaspeed kit goes....I really liked it when i first saw it but after seeing the car in the flesh i really don't think it needs it. I think the mazdaspeed kit will just totally over do the car which looks fantastic with out.
Personally, today i ordered the mazda extra's as follows:

Front air dam
Side skirts
Rear deflectors
Spoiler
Fender strakes
Silver petrol cap

oh and i changed my colour from Titanium to Black with Red/Balck interior.

I am thinking of adding the illuminated gearknob a'la M3. It will looks good.:D I am going to ask a friend of mine who is a panel beater so I can get it at trade price.:p
As for body parts, I will look at the car first before I can decide to add anything. At the moment I think the car looks good as it is.

Mazda just reply me today about the mazdaspeed kit:

" We will not be offering the Mazdaspeed bodykit on RX-8 in the short term.

In the meantime, the RX-8 has a rear spoiler and it has a RRP of $506 plus painting and fitting.

So far dealers only have indicative retail pricing. "

I got in contact with JustJap importers to see if they imported Mazdaspeed stuff but they said that they stopped after Mazda started sticking their noses in. I'm trying to get in contact with other companies but I fear this wil ljust become a wild goose chase.

we are looking at getting the
Mazdaspeed side skirts
Mazdaspeed rear wing
Factory front air dam
Factory fender strakes
Illuminated gear shifter
Piano-black B-Pillar w/ rotary emblem
Luggage compartment mat
Alarm

oh and
Velocity Red, 6MT, Red/Black leather

would love to get Polished wheels but don't know if they'll be worth the hassle to get rid of the other ones (no rebate)

Hey mate, let me know how you go, there are a few other ways to import these things over the net, though none that I have used before or that I would trust, better to have a home dealer.
If I find anything I will post.

Although must agree with Wizza, the standard stuff keeps the car in the 'right' look.

As all accessories are 'aftermarket' anyway I'm just keen to see options
