Can you take a pic of the fog light during the day - not too close, whole car please. An up close pic I saw a while back didn't look too good
I am digging this old thread because

1) I am proving that there is fog out there today 29.5.2005. Melbourne airport is closed and I can see a bloody thing 4 car lengths ahead of me! (Where is Kev now ?)

Also
2) xatnep may want to drool on it a little bit before he installs his.
3) I am now 5000 not 400 in post count :D

Driving in this morning yes the fog was thick, but it still wasn't quite necessary for fog lights. As long as all drivers had headlights on the rear lights were enough to see far enough ahead.

Having grown up and learnt to drive in the UK you haven't seen fog until you can't see beyond the bonnet. That's when you need rear fog lights.

I will not go to work at all if I can't see my bonnet. Should be a public holiday for the state

I think the Valley here is very heavy in fog and generally much wrose than in the west. According to one of the pathologist who travels from Geelong every weekend.

I think 4 car length visibility is already unsafe since it means a less than 1 second reaction time for a stationary object in a 110kmh highway.

If that's your visibility you shouldn't be driving at 110km/h - simple as that.

No.

I prefer foglight down in the accent. It doesn't bunch the lights together.
And if you connect the lights. Its a rotor. :D

No here too... ugly stuff.

But I guess it works as a 3rd brake light. It can goes down to the accent too.

It is very cool as a fog light. Much like the F1 light.

Personally, I think the one on the boot is an ugly look.

I don't mind the one in the accent space like Taka's but I don't drive in enough fog to go through the cost and hassle of fitting one (properly - you know, so it works and doesn't just sit there looking cute).

Xatnep is drooling as he patiently waits on the 5000 post Taka to translate the wiring diagrams from Japanese to Japlish so I can install my rear fog light. Yesterday I travelled from Bonnie Doon to Tullamarine with fog the whole way. Hence I really NEED a rear fog light. Plus it looks so cool on Taka's bum.

LOL, are you serious?

I was just goofing around. I think his signature rather adverts to the fact that we have something in our engine that goes round and round rather than pistons that go up and down...

takahashi , I just got a used one exactly like yours. Damm so many wiring. I know you got it installed form dealer. Do you have any wiring diagram for this? My machinc wantt to install it for me. You got it installed back in 2005. Since then, do you think better off just use it as rear fog/stop lights or with DSC blink option? Thanks for your opion.

First mod! 23-11-2003! LOL

Gee so long ago... I may still have the diagram. If I can find it I can scan it to a pdf now (they don't even have pdf back then). I remember that someone put them in jpeg for me, but I cannot find it now.

Hang on!!!

I found it on the old files. Thank god for network drives. I can access to all my backup files. Cannot do it cheap 5 years ago.

Can even upload a 2Mb pdf up in this forum too.... how time change.

Can anyone provide generic wiring for a rear fog? My VW has half the parts already installed, but I'd like to add one to the Mazda5 as well.

The wire is from the dash to the rear, so it will turn on with a push of button... so a new wire. You can try to hook them from the rear lights. So they turn on when the back light is on.

Or 3rd brake light. They are all 12V.
