Dont get me wrong i appreciate that mazda recieved feed back that the new style RX8 KEY does not fit the standard key rings and have decided to design one to fit ,

However there are Far more important issues to improve on than a stupid key .

FLOODING .

OFFERING THE LATEST ECU PROGRAMMING TO IMPROVE RUNNING OF THE CAR .

BETTER FUEL COMSUMPTION .

EDUCATING MAZDA DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS .

KEEPING CUSTOMERS INFORMED PROPERLY.

Not taking 6 months to finally get the prescrived mazda oil to your rx8 customers .

Sending a wheels magazine that most people have read 3 weeks earlier and a key ring does not win your loyal customers over .

Prompt efficient action to our motoring needs does .

Malcolm Gough and the MAZDA crew should be doing a lot more for their products and for the customer.

I got a phonecall on Friday. A lady phoning from Melbourne who was following up on my purchase of an RX8. She had the wrong name and wasn't sure about what I'd ordered. I told her. She said that Mazda would send me some goodies. I wonder when.

Michael,

You dont get this sort of service you mentioned with cars worth 200K let alone 70k.

Phillip

Michael... compare with Honda, Mazda did a lot for their owners. I receive jack $hit from Honda for my Type R.

Most of the Japanese car dealer are like this and you can't expect Mazda will be on par with the BMWs and Porsches.

A friend of mine recently bought the Mercedes C200K coupe -- crap car IMHO, but Merc's follow-on service is impressive. There is a cafe at the local dealer and my friend can, as long as he books, have the car put through a 40 min detail while he has a cup of coffee, for however long he owns the car -- only pays for the coffee ($3/cup). And, if he goes o/s or on an extended dom airline trip, he can book the car in to be garaged/detailed/looked after, and they will drive him to the airport and pick him up.

Different market but that Merc is only $5-$10k more than the leather pack from memory.

My Mazda dealer has a complimentary coffe shop, and I raid the fridge of a cold drink and snack nearly every time I go

Cheers,
Hymee.

I got my welcome pack after nearly 2months of waiting..
the letter was dated 26th of March, and it is after I rang into ask them when my pack is coming.... not too happy about that..
they don't seem to take the action until there is some complaint.
all they had in the pack was the key ring, murcott drive, wheels mag which I have 2 copies already =(
I thought they were going to include more goodies then that..
did anybody get something else? I know there was mention of coffee table book (which ran out?), t-shirt (rang out??), LED key ring?? I feel like I got ripped off =( maybe I shoulda give them a call about the poor customer service..

I thought the driver course was complimentary aswell (from reading it). Ill be sending an email asap and see what the reply is.

L&L as for fixing other things such as customer service, ECU upgrades etc.....
the reason why they sent you a key ring is because the cost of it was worth the reaction when you got it (nothing). In their eyes it won wheels car of the year, the money they spend on fixing the car would be pointless when the funds can go into and upgraded RX8 with maybe as you mentioned a 16B engine.

My service manager said they are still fine tuning some aspects of the car thow. He said he will keep me posted.
