At Last, I Got One...
8 hrs ago I took delivery of my new RX8! I still can't wipe the grin off my face. I've been driving for hours and showing it to very jealous friends! What a car! And to think, I nearly bought a BMW 325CI - until I took it home for the night! Drove like a Monaro I test drove....I knew then I had to have the Rx8.
This is my first thread - hope I did it right?

Congrats and Welcome ....
A perfect first post too.
One important thing though ... dont worry about post purchase remorse. The joy of owning the Wheels Car of the Year keeps getting better and better!!
Enjoy!!

Pics tomorrow - The dealer knew I was looking at a beamer, seriously too, and did 'everything' to make the sale! They were very generous and the list of options were included...free! Yep, I can't get this grin off my face!!

Congratulations on the purchase of the 8. What a day to get the 8, on the day it was crowned COTY. You'll certainly be sitting in the throne.
Hope you get many adoring stares when behind the wheel, and don't forget the royal wave, but hey, a bit of wheel spin will do. And don't forget, she likes to be revved.
Don't knock the BM, it's a mighty fine vehicle.
Now to add to the accessories, you need to get the Hymee grill, Hymee catback, and the canzoomer stage 1. (hey fella's I'll be waiting for my commission check )

mboptom,
Welcome to this fine place!
Your first posts are indeed great. Correct gramma, spelling and use of capitals! You need to give L&L some tutoring. (He can take it as well as he gives it - insert stick-poke smilie here )
What a legend to take delivery on COTY Day!
The abilty to post attachments is a nice feature about this site. The other way is to use the [IMG] tags, but you need to have some form of web hosting available to you.
Cheers,
Hymee.

To SCO: Can't download a pic, my files are too big and not sure how to decrease their size?? Thanks for the compliment on colour choice, I see your taste is impeccable as well ...!!
To Hymee: Thanks for the kind words. The dealer had as big a grin on his face the day I picked my RX8 up. "It's just won the COTY" he said. I just wanted to see my machine so it could have come last for all I cared, but it is a great achievement.
To Lock & Load: Thanks for the welcome mate, but who's kev???
To vafuncool: Thanks man, I'm beginning to notice more of us RX8 owners on the road in melbourne too. I was in Richmond about that time of day on wednesday so it prob was me... next time, make sure you wave!!
To timbo: ahhh...yes...I guess that makes you a lucky bastard too!
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome.

mboptom,
Glad to see you on the forum. Its a great resource and the folks here are a great help.
I thought for a while there you were going for the Beamer but you came good in the end. You made the right choice and got a great deal.
Speak to you soon. Enjoy and take relaxants for that stiff face ;-)
Cheers, Brett.

Hey Stoli-RX8,
I gotta say, it was great to sound you out about your thoughts on this great car. Even the fact that you got back to me after me leaving my business card on your windscreen, showed me that RX8 owners are a cool bunch!
I haven't waved to a fellow car owner since I brought my first ( I had 6 of them ) Honda Prelude in 1981 (Oh so long ago...) but it happens with the 8!
Took it out on Great Ocean Road late yesterday, not another car on the road and two good hours of sunlight left. I am wrapped I got this car, and you're right, I was very close to choosing the beamer, man did I make the right choice.
How about that drive and coffee sometime, gotta check your "blue" out again and this time I won't be wimpering around it and salivating - I'm so glad you didn't see that...!!
Catchya soon, Michael
