aftermarket hood w/out rotary indent?

hi guys, im pretty new to the forum... ive done some searching, and i havent been able to find much info on this... and none of the pics of member's rides i have seen have had this either. however, i have seen pictures (mostly of japanese 8's) in which their hoods dont have the rotary-symbol shaped indent on the hood. i like how clean this looks and i would love to get my hands on one, but im having trouble finding one... i found one on a japanese site but it was carbon fiber only and super expensive. anyone have any other suggestions? if it came down to it, i wouldnt mind getting a carbon fiber hood, i would just probably get it painted since i dont really want to go with the c-f look.

Might be less expensive to have your OEM Hood Rotary Bubble filled in by a
body shop.... After watching a Zillion-Billion Overhalin' Type shows, I bet you
could get it either cut out or fill it in with Bondo, Fiberglass or Lead...
Good Luck!

while we're on the subject, whats the best functional vented hood? I would want it paint matched to sunlight silver, so no CF.

well eyball, ive thought of all of those options.. however, bondo would be a bad idea on a hood... any time you slam it, its gonna crack or shift and cause major problems. ive also talked to a body shop about possibly cutting/welding the area to remove the indent, and they said that while it could be done, the heat from the engine could cause the area to warp. soo... these probably wouldnt work and id be better off just buying an aftermarket hood. however, i cant find one thats under 1k (i think i found one non-carbon fiber for just under 1k but id have to paint it, making it cost more than cf). anyone know of any other manufacturers? also, i couldnt find the autobahn hood.

au-to bahn hood is also one you'd needa ship from japan. still expensive like autoexe. would probably be over a grand for the fiberglass version. those two are the only hoods out there right now that are plain.

...or you can try to contact a domestic producer like VIS racing and ask if thaey are gonna produce a similar product in the near future... I know they're in the process of producing cf kit, trunk and doors and new versions of cf hood

yeah i think im gonna try to contact a couple manufacturers... the problem is that im not sure demand for plain hoods would be enough for them to justify manufacturing them.
