8A8Y 8,

That is really bad news. I would be really pissed off about that.

At the end of the day and all, just remember it is just some paint. But a lot of hassel and frustration, nonetheless. I hope they didn't scratch your Hymee! (what a chance for a Fruedian slip!)

Cheers,
Hymee.

Really sad to hear that this has happened to you 8A8Y 8, it is one of the fears that we all dread happening along with some one crashing into your car , so I know how you must feel

I hope that the spray painters can make it right, the insurance should cover it but there goes the no-claim bonus! It really riles me that some one could do this to a beautiful car like the RX8 - jealous vandals! At least if some one crashes into your RX8 it is usually an accident or stupidity, but to deliberately damage it all over like this is unforgivable!!

Best of luck in getting returned to its former glory.

Cheers,

Tony.

Phillip

If you find the S.O.B , give him some swimming lessons with a Chevrolet V8 tied to his back .

Man that sucks , that people find the need to take out their fustrations and jealous behaviour on cars .

cheers

wouldn't it be nice to have an electric shock system to shock these people to their senses one they breach the paint job.

Feel for you Phil.

Hey, what about setting up a wirless web cam for those "kodak" moments

Just spoke to Phil.... man I feel for him at the moment.....
Every panel scratched to bare metal in some areas....

F***ing a**holes!
I don't know what pleasure they get from ruining someones pride and joy.

If you pinch someones car or wheels or something, I can understand the financial gain, but to vandalise someones property, what the f*** for?

Anyways Phil, keep your head up.... it'll all be alright.

Phil how far you park from your office?

Do you have a laptop? WEB CAM? Car charger for the laptop? Wireless card for the laptop. Wireless router to your shop.

I would put a message on the windscreen... To the scum that scatch my car i hope you rot in hell.

Talk to the parking guys and ask to speak to the owner.. Not the attendant. Tell him whats going on. Also tell him you are going to inform other people that have parking there what is happening if they dont do something about it. E.G Install more cameras.

Regards
Phillip

I woul definately be asking for security footage. Make sure you report it to the police (you probably already have). I would also invest in an alarm system. I have one installed that when turned on if something touches the exterior of the car then it measures the resistance and can tell if it is metal (eg something conductive) and then sets off the alarm. Additionally it has a shock sensor so as soon as they start to try to key the car or pry open a door then the alarm goes off.

Anyhow, I hope you catch the bastard. My condolences.

you should park it in the same place, same circumstances (same day of the week, time of day) and wait nearby in a friend's car. Not too close that they'll see you, but close enough so you won't miss anything...and keep a nice heavy piece of wood to hit em with...

There is a range of Hymee Approved pieces of "4-B-2" available at all your local Bunnings / Home Depot / Lowes.

All such usage is supported by members here (Well - thinkning about it anyway)

Cheers,
Hymee.

it is truely a sorry story and i feel for you (partly the reason i think twice about driving the car depending on where i park).
think about this
feel lucky to be driving such a nice car, things can always be repaired.
people that do this want you to feel mad, don't give in to them and feel angry all the time.
imagine having such joy at your disposal (cruising in the rx8 ) but feelin so dark.
don't go there girlfriend
hope this is good advice.
my cars have always been bump parked, crashed into and vandalised by other people,
and i live on the lower north shore sydney! (not what you'd expect)
cheers
fatmarco

Baby8

I am truly sorry for the grief this/these hooligan(s) have caused you.

As the owner of a less than 1 week old RX-8 I can only empathise with you. I know my paranoia holds no bounds at the moment. Fortunately, all I have attracted for the most part is compliments and stares in my car.

I'm with fatmacro on the whole response process. Stay positive and don't give in to the darkside.

As for driving and parking - sure take care and precautions - but at the end of the day it is others who have the problem not you - don't be ruled by how screwed up others are.

Let us know how the repairs go.
