Question Installation of Engines Mods - Who is better?

Hi All,

This post goes out to all.

When looking at parts to install, EG. Air Intake, Filters, Exhausts etc. Who is the best person to install?

a) The Mazda Workshop
b) The professional workshop for that particular part/s
c) The cheapest workshop thats professional in that part/s
d) DIY with a little knowledge
e) The cheapest out the back job you can find?

I'm crossing off e), but some of you may prefer that kind of thing.

Basically, I want to find the best places (besides this wonderful knowledge packed forum) on parts and then following through with installation.

Your feedback is highly welcomed.

Cheers,

JEZZAP

THat is a big scenario...

I will try to install the parts from whoever import them for you first - if it is a shop.

There is no such good places for RX-8 related mods. I will search around first, like RevZone, Evo R, ZeroSport is very doggy but why not.

Then go to internet like Japanparts and Mazda US or Jt imports.

I will find friends in HK and Japan too.

Install imported parts -? Know racing project in Mitcham. They do installation quite well.

When you are get the parts - I will pass on detail and you can contact Neilson at Racing Project for installation. Otherwise, I will purchase goods and install at the shop you get it from.

Actually, a Mazda service department installed my lowering springs for me.

As for installing other mods, it all depends on what it is, my catback and intake I did myself whereas I couldn't imagine myself having the knowledge (let alone the patience) to fit a "bolt-on" turbo kit or something of similar nature.

I will still find someone to fit my oil cooler and Hymee grill although I know exactly where it goes. It is simply costly to find a jack and all the tools to start with

Mazda fitted my rear fog lights - European standard and Japanese option rear fog - (quoted me for $200) but they spent 6 hours on them. They sweared that they would not do another one ever again.

Taka - no jack required for the grill kit install.

Also I know of at least 2 Mazda service centers who fit Hymee catbacks. They love them

Cheers,

Thanks for the offer Jazzy.

I will install the grill, the oil cooler and the HKS fan controller in one go. So I will go to my fav garage in Mitcham.

Now we have 2 members in the SE suburbs... we should host our next meeting in Berwick! I will throw in BBQ

March sometimes??
