Impression after fitting AFE SS, and question about taking front bumper off.
Hello.
I've just fit AFE short shifter. Took about 15 min... nice and easy.
With clear instruction delievered with AFE ss from hymee, it was really enjoyable and easy job.
I can feel the shift throw has greatly reduced.
it says 29% reduction??
But it was more than just number.
it does improves the feeling when shifts. ( nice and fast, feeling like playing a racing game!! )
Strongly Recommended for those who still havn't got it. $435 shipped overnight from Vic to Sydney
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And.. i was some OEM fog lights to fit it on.
following on http://www.racingbeat.com/PDF/RX8nose.PDF
I faced some difficulties.
Anyway... i didn't really see the point of taking four 10mm nuts of Photo 2.
I just took 10mm nuts from front..bit..can't really explain...
Anyhow... i managed to take the nose off, but thing was i couldn't disconnect electrical connecter for corner lights. ( Photo 4 )
How can i take them off??
Because day was getting dark and bad environment in the garage, i had to pause the job and will continue on the job tomorrow.
Can anyone give me tips overnight? to take those electrical connecter off for corner lights?
( Being able to drop front nose partially, i managed to fit left fog light. I had fog light but was changing to brighter one. bit more clear colour. ( matches headlight better, althought it may be illegal.. just small stuff.. wont get fined easy?) I was able to disconnect fog light easy.. with releasing clip on the connecter with screwdriver.
Now I have an odd eyed 8. o_O
one fog light being yellowy and one being more whiter!
1. How do i disconnect electrical connecter on Photo4 ( corner light )
2. How do you remove right fog light ? ( it has some... plastic cover thing behind it.
It looks like I had to remove that black plastic cover thing to access to fog light and be able to release it.
I had alot of fun fiddling with 8.
releasing and putting them back on :p
But i do think i've lost about 2 screw+fastener. black one..where tyres are....on the side to hold the plastic cover down. ( apply pressure )

1. You need to push on the far end of the connector to release the catch
2. I can't remember exactly but it's quite easy to release the connection without removing anything else. I think you can just reach inside from the back.

ive taken my side lights out a few time, just twist and pull out, its all good
as for changing your fog light bulbs, no need to remove the whole from bar, just the black under tray thing and then reach up to the back of the fog lights, remove the connector (press on the tab and pull down from memory) and then rotate the bulb and pull out.
i tried rotating the bulb before disconnecting and it doesnt work
