Crown Casino in Melbourne are running a competition for the Spring Racing Carnival where the winner gets to choose between taking home a thoroughbred racehorse.....or an RX-8!!!!

If I won, it'd be a no-brainer.....the RX-8 ! Whadya reckon, would you take the car..........or the apple eatin' poo machine :D .

Well I've got the thoroughbred horse and the car, is there a cash option?

 

- Take new horse as prize
- Take new horse to dog food/glue factory

The thoroughbred is a license to print money...... Melbourne Cup here I come.

 

.....for the jockey and trainer, very few owners make money out of horse.

A good jockey will make in excess of $200,000 per year in Adelaide and a lot higher in the eastern states.

The average base earnings for an junior jockey is about $80K per year.

 

like all people in the sports and entertainment industry, they get paid too much.

 

Sure....you could give them cash. I believe Crown would be quite partial to extracting the money out of a dentist. It's not every day the opportunity comes along to turn the (poker!) tables.
