Hey Guys i have some ?s about migrating to australia

In about 2 years i wnat to move to the Oz i was thinking maybe south australia area or Victoria. I am going to try to get a skilled work visa for adverting and public relations. But besides that i have no idea what i going to do with shelter, transportation. I would like some insight on Australia and its states. i am also looking for a gay frendly community or enviroment. I have been looking for info on australia and its states but i cant find what i am looking for.

Just say by chance i can not get a skilled visa how can i be able to stay in australia, work and live my life there. In the Usa u can get a visa for 4 years and then apply for residence am i able to do that or teh only way is through a skilled visa or sponser Which i will not have.

I recently transported my wife from Canada.

One of the best places to start this type of research is the The Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs. Their website can be found here: http://www.immi.gov.au/

Best you speak to the nearest consulate as they can help you more and point out some things you havent thought of yet.

that'd be a good place to get more info re: relocation/moving.
not sure if you have choices on where you want to work/live.
victoria (melbourne) is a culture city, lived there for 5 years and did my high school before we moved to sydney, slow pace and lots of art galleries and great food, not to mention they have annual mardi gras prade every year in march.
south australia (adelaide) is a quite place when compared to sydney/melbourne/brisbane.
new south wales (Sydney), a fast paced city when compared to melbourne/brisbane, lots of business opportunities, but no where as busy as say NY/London. its great for work and better night life. there are a few popular "alternative style" clubs on oxford street..... (put on jerry signfield's voice..) not that there's anything wrong with that. :p
queensland (brisbane/gold coast).... im sure L&L will come and rescue (only been there half and handful times :D )
in a couple of years time, maybe the price of 8 will drop, then you can even get one here and be happy

I like Sydney and Melbourne. I am sure Sydney will be expensive to live so I will stay in Melbourne.

That is so why I love to stay in Macau rather than Hong Kong, even though Hong Kong has all the good looking chicks.

If you have a job in Australia they will organised a temp residency while you are waiting for the perminant visa.

If you look for job when you are here, you can organise it off shore but better do it quick. It will take 6 months to a year and cost about $3000 AUD. You need a sponser person to make sure you are not in the dole queue, have a different person to know you for more than 12 months in Australia, and 3-4 forms to fill. I am organising one for my sister in law.

Yes you have to nominate which state you need to stay. It have consequences of your success since different state looks for different skill migrant.

Good luck
