Help Please - Car won't start.
Hi guys,
My cars always been a daily driver, i drive atleast 500km's a week for the last 6 months. Until last week, I parked the car a week without turning it on, now when i try to turn it on..it wont turn on. The starter cranks, but i dont think the engine turns over. I figured my battery may have died so I replaced it with a century one which i paid like $150 for. It still won't start afterwards, the start cranks..but the engine still doesnt turn over.
note: Before leaving the car parked for a week, it ran like a champion. No problems, power loss what so ever.
Any hints guys?
thanks,

it's probably flooded. depending on how long you have cranked it the spark plugs are probably fowled.
try removing the injector fuse and cranking the car with the throttle depressed. it may want to start after a few try's cranking. if it doesn't replace the spark plugs and repeat until it wants to start. then replace the injector fuse and it should start.

Post #5 here did the trick for me after everything else failed. It did foul up my spark plugs pretty bad but they ran for another 3 or 4 weeks until I received the rest of my tune up stuff.

Arrrr, im 5000km's from major service. So i tihnk my spark plugs are fouled. Towed it to Mazda, found the sparkplugs a little hard to reach from the top.
Fingers crossed, i hope its flooded not some other problem haha. When i crank it the smell of fuel exits out the exhaust.8

The method that ALWAYS seem to work for me on countless rotary is to push start and clutch pop it. I've done it in a bunch of 7's and three 8's. It worked every time.
It's a two step process really, make sure your ignition is off, push it to about 8mph and then put it into first gear and pop the clutch. This will get all the extra gasoline out of the engine.
The second step is to either try to start it by cranking or push start it with the ignition in the on position. I prefer push starting it just in case I didn't get all the gas out. Like I said, this worked every single time for me.

There are combination of things. Weak battery, trying to start a engine that is partly flooded, with old coil, old plug and old spark plug line. I guess if you had rev it to 3500 rpm for 10 sec before shut down - it may not had happen.
The 60000km plug change is NEVER a good idea. I am on my 4th plug and they are clean at least twice. I just tick over 60000km since 2003.
Now the car is permanantly on triggle charger. But I have no doubt I can start it within a sec everytime.
Enjoy zoom zooming and look after the babe from now on.
After 41/2 years of ownerships and numerous atempts to flood the engine I still have not managed to do it - and I still have the old slow starter .....
yep,
i dont know how they do it..
my motor has lower compression.. a likely slightly clogged primary injector. the old starter, and a crash test fuel pump.. 110 k miles..
still.
i treat is like any other car. and it always starts.. a little slower now, but it does.
i start it and back it out of the garage and shut it down. no big deal..
my roomate does the same thing to my car..
would love to know how to mess it up..
beers

Glad that you fixed it now, but I don't think it is just that you move it and flood it.

Yeah, my coils, spark plugs have done 50,000kms+..and the battery is the original one which has done a total of 115,000kms over 5-6 years. After being flooded, it took me about 1minute of total crank time to kill the battery. So all those factors you listed most likely contributed to the flooding aswell.
