Sometimes you are paying for brand, but also, what one person likes, another may not.

I'm sure for under $1000 they would still make a few $100 for a few hours work.
The freight from US to Australia is MUCH higher than Japan to Australia. The freight from Japan to the US is much LOWER than to Japan to Australia. When the price on the Trust website (http://www.trust-power.com/php/new/n...10110110141590) states 85,000 yen (say $900 AUD) I would say that 800+freight from japanparts is good. I would also check into the cost of shipping because you may find that the shipping from US is more than $100 AUD more than from Japan.

That being said, if you get the exhaust for say $800AUD and shipping costs say $250AUD then you will pay $1050+10% duty +10% GST = $1270.5. So thats the price if you bring it in yourself. If someone in AU stocks it, what would you say is a reasonable price? Me, I would be expecting anything from $1400 to $1600.

Cheers

Andrew

Howdy Aussies. I'm interested in the RE Amemiya exhaust as well and the best price I've found is from a shop with locations is Japan and Australia! Their shipping is super reasonable as well. Came in around $3-400 US less than Japan Parts. See my thread for the link...

Interested in your claim: Which Part are you basing your figures on exactly?

There is more than one RE-Amemiya exhaust system

If it's the Dolphin type, we can get that to Sydney Port for AUS$235.00 which isn't bad....

246-SE3P-M02 DOLPHIN TAIL MUFFLER SET 14-21 days
1 JP ¥121,500.00 AU $1,317.91
Parts Total JP ¥121,500.00 AU $1,317.91

LESS 12.5% discount: AUS$1,153.17

Your freight is sent Fully Insured.
To Port of Sydney JP ¥21,702.00 AU $235.40

1153.17 + 235.40= AUS$1,388.57 ADD 20% for Tax, AUS$1,666...................

There are other RE Amemiya exhausts for the RX-8
