hey thanks, i`ll give those guys a call and see whats what.

and by the way everyone, ... i just left my car sitting in an underground carpark without starting it for 15 months,

put in a new battery, and voom! started right up, no worries at all, ran a bit rough for 20 sec. but it was totally fine. they seem not to be bothered too much by an extended break. i cant see any fluid leaks,... (the cat was disintergrating before it had the break).

back on the road again ,.... awesome car

My cat collapsed a couple of months back. Took it off and shook out all the broken bits, put it back on and all was good. Last week I redlined it and noticed a big cloud of crap in the mirror, followed by a much louder exhaust note. I think I blew the remainder of the cat out! Whatever, it now sounds AWESOME!!!

timtam, thankyou that IS awesome !
i was hearing "little stones in a tin can" type noises coming from under the car
you just saved my a whole lotta money,.. in the short term ,... i`ll just get a hi flow cat put in for like 800 bucks. i think during the service, they did what you did, take the cat off and empty out the loose bits. the rattling from under the car is gone now. good to know ! thanks again

man, that makes me angry, mazda recommending a whole system replacement for over $3k, not telling me i could just get another CAT put on,..hmmm
