Hi guys not sure if this question has been asked but i noticed on the australian website, that the rx8 now states it is 170kw. Wasnt it 177kw or is this the realistic figure or did it actually drop !

That is from the one of the members in the Australian RX-8 forum, Smurf. He received from the customer service from Mazda Australia, replying on the exact issue.

Thank you for your email enquiry. We advise from November 2006 production there has been a slight drop in kw from 177 to 170 on the RX-8 model. This is due to the vehicle having to meet changes to regulations regarding external noise. We can confirm this does not apply to your vehicle and there will be no software change to reduce the power specification.

From February 1st 2007, the pricing on the RX-8 models has been reduced. New vehicle pricing will always fluctuate due to various factors such as competitive marketing forces and promotional activities.
We are advertised more power as the early model, but is that true?

Mine has already been dynoed and is stock.

We got close on to what Mazda says...after we turned off computer...it tried to jump off the rollers before then!!

Seems like we have a $$ drop to match the KW drop!!! Never mind I can depreciate mine quicker!!!
