My intake doesnt go down to there.

It stays in teh engine bay and still uses the elephant nose pipe.

Bewareful when you bare the intake to open air.

There is the typhoon model that I tested in HK. It was only a 28 degree day and the sCANalyser show the intake temp is 58 degree.

Hot air intake!

That would be the Type I typhoon intake.

That one caused quite a few problems with the rx8.

This one...

your one wouldnt be too much better than Type I Typhoon. it is still "exposed" under the bonnet. there will still be heat soaking effect.

Ez ... heat soak would only really occur when you're standing stationary though right?

Find a method to take the intake temp.... that will sort it out once and for all.

With my stock set up, plus a RAM tube to the outside. I can bring the intake temp just 1-2 degree above the ambient.

But if the car's moving, the air inside the engine bay is much cooler, right? Possibly even the same temperature as outside!

Agreed it'll be cooler when moving but the engine is still giving out heat, so I'm not sure of the claim that it'd be the same temp as outside.

Taka's right though. If in doubt, measure it and find out. Where's Labby?
