I need a set of track wheels! Everyone had semi-slicks fitted today, from a 350Z TURBO to a Daihatsu Charade. MX5 to a Corolla. They all had them! I feel the need to follow the trend.

A 1.15.4. Did a string of laps in the 1.15s, which was good. That was up until lunchtime, when my brother's Bommodore ran out of brakes and had to be parked. Then we were driving two-up, which costs about 1.5 seconds a lap!

Impressive. You were in the 16's last time weren't you?

I was just about cracking 16 by the end of that day.

Just think - with some semi-slicks you should be able to crack 14 easy.

Do it!

Do it!

Do it!

We're getting off topic just a little, but geez I'm impressed more with this little car every time I take it on the track. It was the quickest car in the road class easily yesterday, quicker than the 350Z turbo (driven by some "hero" in full race regalia), and quicker than an STI fitted with a Detroit locker. Why a 4wd needs a locker I don't know. There was also a tricked up CV8 that flew down the straight but was SO slow around the corners.

Dave, those MX5s continue to impress, put some sticky tyres opn and they're not that far behind us.

Taka, frankly with all the mods you've made, all the track work you do, not to mention the slicks you were running, you SHOULD be that quick.

And I reckon if TT fits slicks he'll be all over your butt at this year's Nats.

Those interested in times posted at last year's Nats can look here - http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...5.WAKE.XXX.I.Y

You'll note Taka has a bit of work to do himself before he hits low 12's.

Exactly.

I'm working on it but it'll take a while. Fallout levels are still too high to revisit the bombed territory.

You should - would be great to see you down into the 13's.

Besides, imagine how insufferable TT will be if he beats your best lap time.

Getting back on topic, just found these. Love the dish, it's almost deep enough.

TSW Thruxton. You can get a 5" lip in 20x10. Hmmmmmm.
Can't find anyone in Aust who sells them though, just sent an e-mail to an NZ retailer.

Leaning towards 19x8, with a 245/35 for the road(?)

Wouldn't 8.5 be a better width for 245's?

I thought so, yes. But the fitment guide seems to think 245 is the go on 8inch rim.
