What's wrong with buying a car that's ready made?

Similar project is already underway in my car.
Puter in the pass through pocket, I bought a US factory nav center console in the US with the pop up screen, put a 7 inch touch screen in it, currently wiring the thing up to make the open and tilt buttons work.
GPS, bluetooth, OBDII reader connected up working on the software for storing the data and the gauges to show on the screen. Vodafone data card connected for HSPDA high speed internet.

Tried to talk to Hymee about his scan software but he isn't answering my PM's.
Tried out Dash Command but it has limited info it shows.
Have not thought about the wireless he has hooked up so someone else could talk to the car. Not too sure how smart he is doing that. My luck some one would come out with a way to give my car a virus.

From this angle the centre console looks a little familiar.

The project page has links to how he connected up the OBD system.
Also being Linux there is no risk of your car getting a virus.

Coming form a guy that has 300 Linux servers and spends at least 16 hours a day fighting off hackers and script kiddies I can tell you that Linux can get hacked and can get trojans. But I was speaking more on someone being able to talk to the car itself and change something on it not in the carputer.

300!
You must be the glow I see over the horizon at night.
I have never run more than 12 at once. Are you running an ISP?
I did have something dropped into a RedHat 6 mail server about 8 years ago but nothing I know about since then.

I don't know if his unit can change anything or not. He can read and display it.

techark.com/resellershosting.net/ez1host.com and a few others.

Yeah I run a web hosting company and from the amount I pay for elec each month I am the glow you see coming from the US across the pond where my servers are located.
