MicroTech LT-10 ECU

The s series is the latest offering which will allow for software updates to be applied to the ECU as they becomes available. Comes with Ignition enhancer.

Features include:
2x Hall, magnetic or optical input triggers.
4x Fuel injector peak and hold outputs.
1x Auxillary input/output.
MicroTech coils need to be purchased with your LTX-8 ECU. The number of coils puchased depends on the number of cylinders of your car. e.g A 4 cylinder car will require 2 pairs of coils.

1st question, might be why did you buy this if you don't want it? Not being flip, just wondering, was it to difficult after getting it?

Noted they have been on US ebay for a while at $950US. If you know something about this could I ask some questions of you? Otherwise ignore the rest...just searching for some ECU options and so interested.

===================

Is this simply an Interceptor-X? Or is this something really new to the ECU scene? If so is it better than I-X?

The site above doesn't mention RX-8 explicitly (of course talks only about the 13B engine). The ebay seller says "RX-8 Only....". Looking at accessories for it, there does not appear to ba a plug-n-play harness for it, only RX-7 and a couple others. Confusing.

Also ebay seller says you need an X4 box to use separate coils, of course the site doesn't seem to say that, doesn't list an x4 box, only x6 and instead seems to indicate that you need to buy their coils. More confusing.

The manual I can't find on their site, but they are willing to sell it to you for $45. Seems a bit steep for some hand copies and staples paper booklet. Would be nice to see what it's about 1st. Kinda reduntant to not let you read the instructions before purchasing. Doesn't bode well for being very thorough instruction, esp. after reading the one page on the web about "tuning".

The ebay listing http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MICRO...spagenameZWD1V

show a list of what you get and speaks of a

'Flying Lead Wiring Loom' < have no idea what they are speaking of? Anyone?

Anyone at all bought and actually hooked the thing up? Opinions from anyone about the unit?

this site has a forums section and they are very helpful. microtech

flying lead is a harness that plugs into the microtech and has a few feet of wire attached. cable length, routing and teminating plugs are your responsibility. so you can fit what ever plugs you have or splice the wires to the std loom.

it's hard to tell what an interceptor-x really is. they list a hold host of features the microtech can do or optioned with. the post I have read on rx-8club reckon it is a microtech.

coils i'm not sure on. at $150 au dollars for new ones; it wont break the bank anyway. the inticeptor can fire the std ones so maybe the microtech can to? (edit# I think the lt-10 can run the std coils as it has the ignitors on board unlike the lt-8 elite posted details for)

Thanks rotarenvv, that's the site I was looking for. More info, manual, and forum. Sounds like the LT10s was made for the RX-8 except for one thing as described here.

Yes Microtech make an ECU to suit the RX8 engine.
It works with the stock RX8 crank set up & coils & will run the 3 stages of injectors also.
The only thing it wont run is the throttle by wire but all the guys I've helped with these engines have had no troubles retro fitting a universal style throttle body
Guess I have no idea where/what to get for a throttle body replacement. That's the rub I guess w/this.

what I belive everyone is doing is letting the std engine managment run the throttle. the lt-10 would drive the injectors and the coils for full engine control and the std managment stays in place to run the rest of the show. thats why the interceptor-x just runs in paralell with the std managment. there are only a couple of aftermarket managments that can run drive-by-wire and they cost over 3 times the microtech.

good luck!

are you going forced induction or just high tuned NA?

any info you can give back about how to run a LT-10 would be great.

things like; if you needed new coils, or you could run the std ones. what sensors the std managment needed to continue running happily. if you just tapped into the sensors both managment systems shared or if duplicate sensors were nessisary. eg two water temp sensors.
