Unhappy Frustration !

My car has been in the country since 23rd July but this afternoon it was still with TNT and hadn't been booked to be delivered to the Mazda dealer.

TNT say that they are waiting on Mazda making a booking with them. The dealership say thats incorrect and it just happens automatically (yeah, right !). They expect to recieve it tomorrow which means that I won't get it until next week.

In the mean time I'm left twiddling my thumbs while you guys get to have all the fun in your own cars.

After six and a half months waiting I JUST WANT MY RX-8 !!!

Welcome to Mazda - my RX-8 has been at the sea port and then inland port in the USA for almost 5 weeks now, and others have been waiting even longer. And I didn't order any unusual options (just accent package and spoiler that a lot of others have). My dealer is the biggest in Houston (4th biggest city in USA) and has received 5 cars in 3 weeks.

Cool Chill, grill, wait for the thrill.....

My '8' is your spec, Red/Red high power.

Relax, the wait will be worth it! When you lay your retinas on the gold in that paint, it will all seem like it was worth it! I haven't noticed the 'different colors' under different illumination, just that the flecks disappear under weak light, but get that baby in the sun and the curves just come alive!!

The red leather really looks sharp against the rubberised side bolsters - all the more so because there is not 'too much' of it - it looks just right!

Sorry all I can offer is 'don't worry, be happy', but as you can see, just the paint has made ME happy, the engine, gauges and brakes will make you ecstatic!

Guys, if there's anything us lucky ones (who've got our cars) can do to ease the pain... speak up.

Don't know if posting more pictures or rave reviews helps or hurts !

Maybe we should start planning a Sydney get together in a month or so, to make sure you'll have your cars by then?

Either way... hang in there...

Ah yes, it seems TNT are letting us all down. I've been told by Mazda that my car has been ready in Sydney since 23rd July. The dealer still doesn't have it (as of 02Aug) and when they asked TNT where it was, they were told to ask Mazda! Time for Mazda to get a new transport company....

There's nothing that can be done unfortunately, I had this debate with Mazda HQ in Melbourne, poor lady (Maria I think) had to put up with me venting for about 20 minutes... no one in Mazda, from HQ or the dealer, will be able to tell you exactly where your car is from the time it's on the truck till the time it's arrived at the dealer. Best thing to do is contact the dealer and get them to give you a yell as soon as the thing turns up. My dealer (Matt from Alessi) has been fantastic, but after speaking to HQ, I realise how much he's been let down by Mazda Australia.

It's such a shame, Mazda did a fantastic job of building interest, excitement, made us all want it, then in the last few weeks, has totally screwed it. I envy you guys that got your cars early, but Mazda should have controlled it better and let them all out at once, not whenever the dealers felt like it... As it turns out, HQ advises that August 1 was the "Public Release Date", when I enquired further as to what this meant, I was basically told that this is just a date they picked to release the car publicly, it has nothing to do with when the cars will be shipped to the dealers or be available to people who preordered. As we've seen, cars have been on the roads for weeks now, yet some pre-order people haven't been able to get theirs.

Well, end rant here... My dealer called me yesterday the second the truck pulled up and I know my car is at the dealer, just gotta get outta work now to go pick it up Tuesday will be a great day!

Well it seems that the poor business relationship Mazda have with TNT has let quite a few of us down. TO be honest, I dont blame Mazda. I think the reason for the delay of all our cars lies with TNT. From the last phone call I had with them (Friday) it was obvious that they were going to transport the cars when they were good and ready to and nothing Mazda or anyone else would say could change that.

I spoke to them Thursday morning and they essentially told me to chase Mazda. The branch sales manager at Mazda said the car might cmoe in that day but more likely to be Friday. I called TNT back Friday afternoon and it still wasn't booked for delivery. The TNT employee commented that they would be focussing on Mazdas on Monday. Perhaps many of us frustrated buyers will get a welcome call from Mazda on Monday telling us that our vehicles have arrived ? Two days for prep and pre-delivery check and hopefully most of us will be on the road between Wednesday and Friday.

BTW - Did anybody else buy any of the Wax Guard products to protect the bodywork and interiors of the RX-8 ? I took the lot as I want this car to look as good as new for as long as possible.

Inspected my car today !

.....and not a moment too soon.

I called TNT again this morning (they must be getting sick of me by now) and they confirmed that my car was scheduled for a 10am delivery to the dealer.

Called in to my dealer this afternoon and the salesman took me to see it in their Pre Delivery area. It had only arrived an hour earlier and was still covered in the protective wax. All the interiors were covered in plastic but it looked great !

I'm pushing for a Wednesday or Thursday delivery this week.
