First Drive in the wet

Well on Sunday I had the '8 out for it's first drive in serious wet.

The handling characteristics certainly are "interesting" compared to the dry - I won't be touching the DSC button in the wet!

Now the car didn't misbehave at all, but I could definately feel the slight skittishness in the wet. As this is my first rear-wheel drive car I have owned this will also be contributing to the feedback as well.

Discovered another interesting feature of owning an '8 in the wet. Having the doors open in heavy rain lets in so much water the name "submarine" could almost apply. Quick towel down of the seats required.

Anyway during the same downpour, kudos not! to the bogan in the old Commodore who dragged away at the lights - shortly before a merge-to-1-lane - Jubilee Terrace in Red Hill for the Brisbanites - who lost the rear-end & swung right into my lane (I was of course accelerating slowly as per the conditions), over compensated, went the other way & almost took out a parked car, before roaring off in a spray of water, beeping his horn.

A couple of decades ago....know that spot well!

Assume "Kiwimeat" means you have some connection to the rainy isles.....cloudy my ****, ya can't see the clouds through all the damn rain..........

PS...DSC stands for "Dynamic **** Control".....turn it off in the rain at your peril....

Get some Eagle F1 tires, and I bet you aren't going to have wet issues.

I remember my first time in the wet. A bombodore beside me thought he might have some fun and plants the foot. Planted mine too. He got some serious wheel spin... I just keep on going... love the traction control in the '8.
