FINALLY I Ordered My new RX-8

HI guys, I hope you will let me indulge a little.........

Finally after nearly 8 years (give or take a few!) I ordered my new RX-8 Today!

WOOOOOO WOOOOOOO

I was first getting the Luxury 6 speed manual in Diamond Grey with RED leather,
you have to remember that I am a conservative....

Well the only one in Australia was in another state/dealer, being **** and fussy I asked if they could tell me the Kilometers on the speedo, 105!!!

MMMmmm that made my think, for a while, and a little more.
I don't want a car that has been road tested/ thrashed by anyone.

So, the salesman checked on the Mazda Australia's stock lists and there was only one "Crystal White Pearl" with Red Leather in Oz.
Brand new in Mazda Australia's bond store..

SO, this was my second choice and the deal was done!!!

YAAAAAAA

Should have delivery by the end of the month.

Build date was the 5th August, arrived Down Under on the 6th September.

So, it is the latest shipment and the last for this year....

Got the extra year warranty, free reg and 3rd party, free mats.

So if you include the 12 month warranty and reg etc, I got around $8k off, that's if I had to pay for the extra warranty.

SO I will post pics as soon as..

Cheers

Great buy ASH.

So you scored the RX-8 luxury for under $48k....??

Great buy if you did, the Series-II has many improvements. Make sure you send in plenty of pics, I think you will be the first one on here with a Series-II.

Dont buy accessories via the sales guys, you will pay full retail & more. Get them on the side from the spare parts department & try a "trade" discount. You will save BIG.

Wow Dave, fair go mate, I wish I had.

Here in SA Retail for a Luxury Manual on road is $59,810.00, I got for $52,750.
so I guess 48 plus on road.
I wanted to only pay 50, but just could not get it down that low.
No one would budge under 54 except this guy.

I got the extra year warranty $1000.00 (which every new Mazda buyer gets free until end December 08), free 12 mth reg $631.00 , CTP $70, so that saved me about $1700.00

I know the parts manager there, we go way back, so I must catch up with him, he is at their other Mazda Dealership 15 minutes away.

What do you think I should get in the way of accessories?
Apparently, I will have the only P White with Red in SA!

Nice one Ash. Congrats and enjoy.

Forget about accessories for a while. Just drive it and have fun. What's missing is such a subjective choice. What we would recommend may not be your thing.

Thank you all for your greetings...

Some gossip you might find "interesting"..

My dealer has also sold a Black Luxury Auto with red trim.

The guy wanted a GT front bumper, so a new one was ordered, painted and installed, the guy wanted new black spoke alloys, got them installed.
Paint and interior "protection treatment". Window tint.
Rear parking sensors.
All up 62K on road.
Paid for by his parents, he is just 16 years old.

I said, I will give him less than 12 months before a new Auto 6 speed tranny is required under warranty.

I really hope this kid is careful and looks after HIMSELF when he drives.

Wow, great news. Congratulations, Ash! I too waited a while for my car (4 years) and it feels great to finally own one, especially the series 2. Post pics when you can.

Well done Ash, white would have to be one of the most prestige colours in this car. I just can't help thinking the Mazda Execs would be breathing a sigh of relief "thank god we've got this bloke out of our hair...!"

On the warranty side of things - do you now have the full three years/100K?

Well done Ash and I love the white...I am jealous. I agree with Dave, hold off on the accessories for a while and find out just how good the car is stock.

Cheers

Congratulations, you certainly did well. I hope you have as much fun as I've had out of mine over the past 5 1/2 years. The important thing is that you didn't get slugged with the Rudd tax!

Thanks Labby, Dave and Tev..

Since I have not seen a Crystal White Pearl before in the flesh, I hope it looks OK.

I sat in the Black Auto with red trim (more like a lite burgundy) and is very nice, great contrast instead of all black trim.

BTW, I also have my personalised plates to fit too...

'RX-8888' Red lettering on white background.

Update..

It's a week since I ordered (car coming from Mazda NSW), checked this morning with the salesman, said he contacted the car carrier wont be here until next Monday!!!

Then he rings me 3 hours later to say it has arrived at the dealership (go figure), he has put a priority clean on it and should take delivery tomorrow (Friday).

YAAAAAAAAA

Delivery WILL be Saturday morning (tomorrow) Bugger, Bugger!

My RX-8888 will be ready after 5.00 PM tonight, and I live about an hours drive away, then with PEAK traffic, etc, etc...

So we decided to torture myself for yet another night...

Will try and post pics tomorrow.
