fast and furious: tokyo drift

just saw it today, i actually liked the storyline for once, and the jokes were actually funny too... there were some special appearances and guests from the real drift world and some special guests...

and im glad they didnt wreck the image of the rx-8

I really like the blue lines going around some of the curves of the car.

Paintjob could have been a LOT worse! (remember the ugly green they painted the Eclipse in part 1? )

Anybody who knows anything about film making will tell you that the cars used very rarely match the edited special effects product seen on screen.

Besides, if you're drifting, you're slow!

the role that the 8 played is very small, not much happens to it, i only managed to see two, the blue one with the stupid paint job and a red one inwhich gets toasted!!!

drifting is very slow but it looks cool

I watched this on Friday and I have to say, this was a much more structured Fast and the Furious sequel. The story line was much better and things actually made sense.

As for the RX8 in the movie, like Zephyr, I only noticed two in the movie too. The blue one, which, although belongs to a major character, wasnt being driven much at all. You only see it once or twice so that was pretty disappointing. The second rx8 is a (stock) red one which gets wrecked during a carchase - you only see it for1/2 a second though.

The rx8's arch-rival, the 350Z has a major role in the movie. You see it being driven in almost every race/drift scene (except the first).

Pretty disappointed overall for the rx8's role, but hey, its better than nothing

I loved the typical "Look at me, Im a ******" way the NSW premier announced that copy cat drifters on the street will go to jail.

What an excellent publicity boost for the promoters & an excellent incentive to the "**** the Gov" crowd.

Just picture it now. Mum & Dad in the family Commodore get a little sideways around a corner as the wheels pass over some spilt fuel from the truck ahead. Kids wave "weeeeee" in the back as Dad corrects & brings the car back into line. Cop behind goes "Weeeee" on the sirens & sends "The family guy" to jail......... (worst case scenareo but plausible)

There is also a silver 8 in the final scene, but you only get a few sideways glimpses of it.

You'd think Morry Dilemma had enough problems without alienating more voters.

Wonder how a Motorist's First party would go at the election? The Blue and Red Bogan Brigade would be good for a few votes. Would almost be worth it just to see the Greenies and our Clover go into apoplectic meltdown at the thought of the average driver clawing back some of the ground lost to the "Pedestrian Council" and the fun police in the RTA.

I think you're making the dangerous assumption that anything in that flick is factual.

In NSW at least they will chase you whatever the speed unless it's deemed dangerous to other road users. Besides - very difficult to maintain that kind of speed in most builtup areas without hitting anything and on freeways, etc they just set up a cordon or bring a chopper in. And if you run and get caught the charges and penalties rise exponentially.

I went into the movie expecting it to be disappointing but I really enjoyed it! Great cars and definitely the shortest miniskirts on the women (the ones that just stand around next to the cars and do nothing other than provide eye candy) that I have ever seen!

RX8 status in the movie is disappointing. But, the orange RX7 was amazing!... Makes me want my S6 RX7 back.... Still, I didn't have a body kit like that on mine - just all black with a big **** spoiler.

Ewww.....dat is so not nice......makes the car look all out of proportion. What are these people thinking when they do these cars up? "Lets make this one look like it belongs in a Hot Wheels box"!! Oh no this film not only makes me cringe but also makes me wonder why they have to TART the cars to the point of making them look like bush pigs.... I would rather see them get some class than see the film....sorry for my money I would rather watch all the back copies of MASH than this stuff.

Any who why do they think that they should make a car a girl drives look so Barbie?? Not happy with dat!

Anyone seen how they actually do the stunts with the cars?? Not many of those scenes are done with the cars on the ground...

The have them on trailers bolted onto gyro jobbies that allow them to spin and move the cars to re-create the look of drifting....

Bring back the original Duke of Hazard where they did REAL stunts and trashed real cars.....god even Herbie is more real and his paint job is way nicer....

I actually like the paint job how it fades from blue to black. I don't like the front part of the body kit and the paint job on the bonnet - should have been plain blue.

But I like everything about the RX7 in the movie:
