Factory Sat Nav....be quick, only 8 available!!

Scoop!!

Mazda Japan have exported 10 Leather Pack RX-8's with factory fitted Satellite Navigation. Apparently they polled the top Australian dealers asking their opinion on the system which was to sell as a five thousand dollar option. The dealers reported back "no way, Jose", but the cars were already on the boat.

The system uses software utilised in the Ford Falcon Sat Nav, so map upgrades will be available into the future.

Two cars have been sold already, there are eight left. All eight are Leather Packs and they come in either Red or Silver. I have no idea of the transmission types....

These eight cars are being sold with Sat Nav as a no-cost option .

City Mazda in Melbourne have scooped them all up....ring them if you want one. They'd just sold the one they'd had in the showroom, hopefully another one will be in stock when I drop in next week. I'll see if I can grab a photo then. Here's a Yankee photo to whet your thirst.....

Cheers,

Gomez.

yah its a ripoff lol my whole system cost me just under $4500 but it does a whole lot than the standard navigation.

I could have saved a lot of $ if i used a cheaper LCD and less expensive parts for the computer (soundcard, composite cables, powersupply etc) but being the geek that i am, I went for the best stuff I could (afford) and fit in the little amplifier case lol

i could have easily had the whole thing working for ~$3g to do the same thing
