Wow what a great day, 2 super instructors Will Davison and Matt Colman in my car watching and giving me instruction and then Matt Colman taking me out in the RX8 and showing me how to smoothly caress the car aroung the track rather than me fighting my way around. End result big smiles and less OH SH#T moments as I had more control by the end of the day
Best part of the day was NOT being passed by Taka :D
189km/hr down the main straight and 105km/hr through turn 1 at Sandown, what a buzz.

Yes... Yes Taka passed me and then again and then again

One thing I really learnt this time is with my stuffed ankle I just have to learn somehow how to Heel & Toe. Work out how to force that ankle to move the ways it needs to. I just lost too much speed going into the corners and then had to keep lifting off the gas to let the faster cars through as I did not want to hold anyone up... Especially Taka

Oh and I also found the Toyo T1-R's are superb for the road but are less than great for the track. They heat up so fast that after a couple hard laps they get very slippery and the rear just wants to slide powering out of corners. Next stop some track tyres for my original rims :D (When Danielle's not looking :o )

 

I think I need to play with the tyre pressure and coilover setting with the instructor next time. It is too hard just to get the right gear happening.

I was so tempted to to 5th and straight to 3rd for turn 1.... maybe when I am about to upgrade my clutch and flywheel
