Event O'Neill Sandown Drive Day Invitation

This is for private invitation only. So keep it to yourself.

It has coverage in the Wheels and Motor and they use the track day to do the GT3 write up. Nice

It is running as an open day format.
$285.
5-6 instructors
Gourmet BBQ lunch
Michellin support crew
Bonus supercar passenger ride (Lambo was in last time and I missed out )

Stuart and I will be going.

Gary join us :p

BTW that will what you see the whole day. Not because I am not letting you through :p

I think that might be the rear fog light you're looking at

It is off topic so I will PM you mate.

It is going to be so much fun. Hey, atridge you are getting your friend to video it. Why not get your CB. We can have a sticky pod as a in car camera, or commentating while we are chasing each other.

I only suggest that as I have a helmet that can connect to a CB but the head phone and yelling to the CB radio will do.

The camera men can have a CB and record our conversation.

It is like on the TV :p

No shame there.. I am just teasing you.

There are some very hot Mini S in Hong Kong. From the reboosting and programming of the supercharger, and getting consistant 250hp... at the front wheel. The Hongkies put Bilstein on those and semislick.... it is a series race car.

They do race Mini S in Macau. ... I have seen one.

Hey Taka I just checked my email and invitation was there yippee. I think you said you had insurance with GIO in a previous post. Is this still correct and did you notify them about the drive day ? If so what was there response to the advanced driver training course . I want to pay asap and would appreciate your comments

I did not tell them.

I think Stuart is with them too.

You can ask them saying this is an advice driving course like the one organized by Murcott.

Last time I did that on the Mazda Drive day they said no.

Talking about Mazda Drive day ... where the heck are they?... I will email them again to see if they are thinking of organising anything.

Well I am thinking of borrowing one from my friend. Type the day, convert it to MPEG and DivX and edit it later on.

I am thinking a cheap way for the camera mount. The stickypod idea is good but it will block the rear view and it is not 100% safe then. I am thinking of what someone here did (it was shealth in the US)- putting a rod out between the rear speakers and screw the camera in.

Time to think

The only problem with this is the Camera sits on the end of a long lenth of wood/pipe (whatever you wish to use) This will resonate on any vibration/bump amplifying it through to the camera!

I have already worked out my design using the rotary cutout in the seats as the clamping positions for a bar that goe's behind the seats from one to the other. In the middle of this I mount the camera (directly in the middle between the 2 seats). The camera position there also allows the camera to view the Tacho! I have it all there in my head.

Yeah that could happen... especially I want to mount it to the strut bar that connects to the suspension.

Back to the suction cup idea. I think I just get the stickypod if I can borrow a camera from my friend.

But I want it further back so it views the gear changing too.

At the rear seat, you can see gear change, tach, road and you in the same picture.

Take the passenger seat out of the pic by flipping its back flat....

Have a look at this product from manfrotto

http://www.optexint.com/sales/tripods/mn143.html

It attaches to a clamp or suction cup and the arm can be placed at any angle you want. Perfect for the video cameras etc

The lever in the middle turns 9 degrees and the arm locks in place.

Just something for the thought processes

How much is this?? Look extensive .

You know anything near $100 I will actually get the stickypod (from stickypod.com)

It is doable if it is about $30. Sticky pod is more versatile although it is about $100. On 2nd thought, if I have this magic arm attach to a clamp and clamp this to the rear strut. It is better! Since there will be no suction plate to obstruct the rear mirror view
Quick search of the eBay I get this
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....sPageName=WDVW

Well I need to borrow a DV first :o

Well Gary you are the man in term of AV and camera stuff and I think we should work a cheap version of camera mount with a device clamping onto the spare tyre bar/strut bar

I am going to find out where to get this Magic arm...There is a kit set that has a clamp

Will be cheaper than stickypod since they need US$25 postage.

You will see a lap of Sandown driven my Taka in the semi slick on a dry track

BOM weather... report

Tonight and Tuesday: Isolated coastal drizzle, mostly during the morning.
Morning fog and frost patches inland then cool to cold. Mostly sunny inland,
however remaining partly cloudy near the coast. Light to moderate west to
southwest wind tending light northwesterly in the west later.

So I think Sandown is inland :p
