Crossfire style quad exhaust for RX8 ?
Further to the thread that D.G.W started called Quad exhaust pipes.
In today's Gold Coast Bulletin, Prestige Vehicles there is a photo of a rear of a Chrysler Crossfire. The only thing I like about it is the exhaust shape, this shape could be incorporated into the rear of the RX8. Same as the Chrysler or following the shape of the aluminium exhaust protecters.
My son played around with a few possibilities in Photoshop.

Here is the quad one. For my way of thinkin, if I am going to lose my warranty in having changed my exhaust, I would want to use better material (stainless steel or platinum). With a freer style exhaust and be visibly different to stock standard. Not just in size and sound but in appearance.
Any constructive thoughts, likes/dislikes?

You can't loose your warranty by changing your exhaust. You might get banned from the forum if you put those things on though :stick-poke:
Your warranty can only be "voided" if there is a problem that is caused by the exhaust. Obviously, the aftermarket exhaust is no longer covered by factory warranty.
Dealers will fit a sports exhaust to a new car. They do it all the time.
I have also spoken to my service manager about this. If you are unsure, then check it out for yourself.
It is no different to if you put in, say, a Ryco oil cooler. If it ***** itself and the engine blows, then - sorry, no warranty (from Mazda) - time to invoice Ryco.
Cheers,
Hymee.

I'm definately going with a stainless steel aftermarket exhaust. Undecided about quads at the moment, but it would be good to be different!
As Hymee said, intake and exhaust won't void your warranty unless they are directly responsible for breaking your donk.
I also checked with AAMI. They said intake/exhaust will not increase my premium. I just need to tell them I've got them. SC or Turbo was another story. Won't insure for under 30's there.

Well pepe, we all agree that black looks sweet … for those first few, er, hours, possibly minutes … sometimes only seconds after the wash & polish
Which reminds me -- I have to do a thorough de-bug when I get some time. Mine is currently Velocity Red … with random yellow and green stripes. NOT a good look

Hmmmm, red looks real good, especially when surrounded by all those other red ones on the road :p To bring this post back on topic, quad pipes or cow bell types like the ones above would certainly make your red one stand out from all the other red ones
hehe... red, the colour of the flames I shall now receive...

for my money I'm asking myself "Will it make the car go faster?"
if not, then it's a waste of time and effort as far as I'm conserned.
It might look differnent, but **** - if it's not ending up with 177Kw++ then I'm not spending a peny on it frankly..
I can't say I see the wow'ness of a square exhaust, dual or quad sorry - frankly I can't see what's wrong with the stock exhaust.
When I rust one out, I'll ponder this issue some more perhaps.
thats my 2.2c ( inc GST ) worth.

Dez - yours shouldn't rust out in a hurry - they are stainless from the factory.
But yes - if it doesn't do anything to improve performance, it has already passed one of the Rice tests.
I also kinda like the "subtleness" of the standard car's shape. I would put strakes on her, but that is about it. A bit like the purists and the Monaro, and how they spat when HSV (and other to follow) put kits and rear spoilers on them.
Cheers,
Hymee.

I saw a Crossfire the other day and wasn't impressed. It only has twin centre pipes, they are square externally but with very obvious small inner circular holes - looks like some after market add on for a Saxo with no engine. What really turned me off was the silly little spoiler folding back down as he slowed down, looks ridiculous!
I pulled along side to let him see what a decent car looked like, but couldn't floor it away as I was reading empty and gently whafting it towards a garage.
Cheers
