Chick Magnets?

Quote from today's CARSguide.com.au...."A high percentage of Australian women (42 per cent) agree that they are impressed by a man who drives a nice car, according to a survey conducted by CARSguide.com.au."

I can only say how disappointed any young woman attracted to my RX-8 must be, to see a boring old fart like me behind the wheel.

I think the other 58% all live in Sydney.

The key thing is they did not say what sort of car these women were impressed by. "nice" is very broad.

The next bit of the survey asked what sort of car they would like to be (sort of like automotive Buddhism?). A majority of blokes said "V8", while a majority of chicks said "convertible". Bit worried about the chicks' response.

I honestly dont think it's the car that attracts women. If they are attracted to you and you have a nice car--then this may be a "bonus." I've never heard of an actual case of a guy getting a hot chick solely on what he drives. What's in his wallet, maybe...but the car alone? I'm not too sure.

Then again, I'm not a hot chick...

A car isn't really a sign of wealth. It's a sign of expense

You can have the young naive ones Tuan. I'll have experience and ability anytime.

And yes I'm smooth. Hair slows you down...no matter where it is.

Agreed. I wouldn't take this supposed stat too seriously.

Errr. It doesn't. Unless you're a "little guy." Then I suppose, you'd have to use "the -motion-of-the-ocean?"

Ok, I probably don't know this because I don't have to ... but why does a little guy have to use the motion of the ocean?

The car gets you initial looks, but its still more about the squidgy thing behind the wheel. You could be driving a Ferrari but if you still look like a monkey's anus theres not a chance in hell unless the observer is a gold digger.

I've gotten a few looks sincei got my car, and even a kiss blown. Must be me. ;p

No, most likely they were gold diggers and the car is what attracted them to you.

Female friends like riding in it but I don't think it's ever going to get me into any trouble with 'er indoors. (I'm talking the car here!)

I think the whole sports car chick magnet myth is only for the dumbest bimbos and goldies. 007 movies probably have a lot to answer for in perpetuating the idea.

BTW, the rotary proves that size doesn't matter everywhere...

...but sorry (small) guys, I'm reliably informed that it DOES matter when it comes to you. Motion in the ocean is only gonna get you so far.
