Just dropped my car off at the dealers for the recall. Got into a bit of a chat with one of the salesman about what to expect in the updated RX-8 , due to arrive in the showroom soon.

He was a bit vague about mechanical changes (ie, he didn't know about the new auto), but he reported the new RX-8 will come with the Shinka interior. Piano black console, chrome rotary bezels in the seats, no pleats in the bolsters on the leather seats. He had no idea whether we'd cop the exterior bling treatment of the Shinka though. He learnt about this stuff in a roadshow last week. Ugh....glad I got my RX-8 last year.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply the whole Shinka interior.....he didn't mention anything about white seats. The chrome rotary bezels will be on the standard cloth/leather seats apparently.

 

I'd never have that beige leather.

Gets filthy too quick with midgets in the back.

if you know the RX-7. Look at the amount of changes between the series-I & series-II. Or series-4 to series-5

Thats pretty much what one should expect for the series-II RX-8.......

No no no....white on white won't happen. White leather is gone for good, I hope.

 

on the way back from the service centre this morning while "zoom zooming" the active-matic mazda 6 loaner.... saw a VR coming towards me and he had front (as far as i can see) shinka seats.... lucky i had my sunnies on.... :D
