While rolling in neutral or stationary?
I get rough idling at high speeds, but car doesn't shake. As in, idle flicks between 500-1000RPM. That's in neutral. But at moderate speed, or still, the car is fine.
I've got an intake.

AFAIK This is one of those age old aguments with rotaries, like fuel consumption.
Have a listen to all the old 10a, 12a, 13b peripheral ported, bridge ported engines. They all sound like they are about to stall at idle. Get them going...totally different story.
I definately get the same problems but I have driven older rotaries and so dont think to much about it. My wife on the otherhand freaks when she is driving it.
What I have noticed (in my very untechnical way) is that when the car is warming up in the morning, it starts the revs off high, it then dips the revs, like it is testing if its ok at lower revs yet, then goes back up, tries again and drops a bit, and so on. When the car is overly warm it tries a similar thing...can I get away with dropping the revs a bit.
Thats what I think anyway...cmon all you car techos shoot me down :-D

Start touching aftermarket intakes you'll notice something.
My car stalled when i closed the bonnet after installing the intake.
Idle is like stock, but high speeds i notice something different, but not so worried.

Some cars idle rougher than others but heaps of shaking when idling does not sound healthy .
Get it checked

I thought this was the case with old roataries because if the overlap between exhaust and intake ports. This is not the case with the renesis, so I can't see how this is consider "normal" for our 8s.
But I'm by no means a Rotary guru.. so don't take my word for it

what have you ever done thats important at idle ? Nothing!
rotors bump, splat and jerk, they just do that. My S6 TT did it, my 13BT did it, my 8 does it. Dont concern yourself over it at all.

Not sure if I'm just imagining things, but I got my 8 back today, and according to the invoice she had been flashed. I asked the service guy and he said they'd just received a new flash a few weeks ago. Low and behold, she idles much much better. This is backed up by the fact that the RAP SS doesn't move side to side as much, in fact shifter movement at idle is not really visible, but I can still feel it if I rest my hand on the ****.
Also I can't put my finger on it yet but she feels different somehow. I shall keep an eye on things and report back if I come up with anything.

Well I am booked in for next Wed morning. Syptoms = "Rough Idle" :D .
You should have heard the girl when I told her that I had the Hymee Exhaust...."Well there is the most likely problem" she says in all her "And you said you had an RX what ?" experience!!!

Rising idle speed is on my "to do" list the day a proper PCM recalibration tool is available.
Car manufacturer have this ridiculous requirement for a low idle speed (800-860 RPM) probably to save fuel and reduce emissions. Although for the latter, when the engine ages and starts misfiring at idle, as my Renesis does, I don't think it's really great for emissions!
Idle speed in our engine could be at least 100 RPM higher. Considering the amazing stability at higher revs, it could even be higher on the Renesis.
I'm also very disappointed about the engine management at idle and at crawling speeds when the A/C compressor kicks in. You really can feel a huge torque drop (not mentionning the awful clicking noise) and even a RPM drop sometimes! I would have expect a better torque control based on spark advance, fuel injection and even electronic throttle body to keep it transparent.
