Hey guys, today I had my rx8 stall on me. First of all you need to know this is the 4 speed auto.

I was nearing the end of my journey home and going up the last bit of a hill and then the car started losing power. I had my foot on the accelerator but there was no response, after a few seconds power would come back and then go away again. This would happen a few times and then the car would stall .

I am able to restart the car but after about 200m of driving the same loss of power would occur and if I kept pushing it the car would stall. I'm gonna give Mazda a call tomorrow luckily i'm still under warranty...

Any ideas on whats wrong?

Losing power on a hill? search it. Sounds like your fuel pump is going out or clogged.

I've only done about 33000Km and I've had the car for almost 3 years. I hope its not as serious as what Charles say. *fingers crossed*

Speaking of fuel pump, I was low on fuel but not so low that the fuel light was on.

/edit Think I've found the problem, I was out of fuel. The fuel low light wasn't on but I was out of fuel. The gauge still showed 0.5cm above empty.

I usually reset my trip meter after every refuel and it was showing 400km and I thought to myself "Wow I did well this week" turns out I didn't... lol
