car bra

After looking with horror at the limited range of car bras being manufactured and offered here in Australia, I eventually found and purchased an original factory Bra from Rosenthal Mazda in the U.S for $99 U.S
What can I say other that it fits like a glove and looks fantastic.
It even has a great Rx8 logo on it.

Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a car bra to visit the Rosenthal Mazda site. They provide great promt service (delivered in less than a week from the states) at a great price which was much much cheaper than here in Australia .

Only extra cost was $32 U.S dollars for prompt express postage.

Dont have photo as yet ,can access picture on Rosenthal Mazda's web site or do search where U.S customers have taken photos of their cars with exact car bra.

As I live in Albury Car bra is invaluable but there was no way that I would have been seen dead with Oz version.
Have had comments by people who say that my car bra is the best they have ever seen.

Is that Rosenthal Mazda site the one that redirects to
http://www.finishlineperformance.com/ ?

I've tried to order stuff from there but found the shipping extremely prohibitive. Agree it looks great. I'm driving across the country soon but won't be going without a bra.

This is what the Rosenthal Mazda site quotes me when I go through the checkout:

Qty Description Unit _Amount
------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) Front Mask - Full $97.20 $97.20
____ Vehicle Option is Without Front Air Dam
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal: $97.20
Shipping & Handling: $124.80
Total: $222.00

Oh yeah - did I mention I picked up my 8 TODAY?!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm about to curl up in bed with the owners manual. Ecyclopoedia RX-eightica by the look of it.

Thanks takahashi

I'll have to miss the drive day - I'm migrating to the Byron Bay area at the beginning of April.

Should catch up before that though.

BTW have you ever ordered anything from japanparts? I'm wondering how long delivery takes.

The one from Rosenthal certainly looks a neater fit than the local one I saw. Yep, I could be up for it, but a group buy, while potentially achieving a discount on both freight and purchase price, might bring us into dutiable territory and hence more hassle and time delay.

Anyone with experience on this?

I guess it depends whether you are planning to get the front air dam, which I guess is the standard Mazda offering -- see http://www.mazda.com.au/accessories_pl.exe?id=43.

I'm not so 'without' is my choice

Freight cost me $32 U.S. ,not $100 .
All you have to do is get on the phone as I had done and place your order . You then fax through your details including address and credit card details and then within 5 days bar bra was delivered to my front door for $32 U.S freight and $99 U.S for the bra for a total cost of $131U.S .
Get on the phone you have nothing to lose and plenty to gain.
Anyway local bra was up around the $400 plus dollar mark.

As the US cars dont get the wiper washers on the front bumper have you allowed for it on your car .( cut them out ) or disconnected them ???

If you were to place the bra on your rx8 and not allow for the functioning of washer it may cause damage to their operation , .

Does anyone know how to disconnect their wiper washers on the front bumpers ????????????

cheers

I tried Rosenthal Nissan Mazda
this week

"We were upgrading the shipping part of the shopping cart software this
weekend and did not have the shipping rules set up properly for
international calculations.

The actual UPS charge for shipping your package is $89.00

Let us know how to proceed. We apologize for the inconvenience."

they want to charge me $89 just for the shipping! that's crazy it is some international express but it should only be round $60 .au for something this size and weight.

trussville mazda was about the same price as rosenthal

george was lucky.

I spoke to Tommy from spares at Rosenthal MAZDA in US this morning he quoted me $97.20 for the bra and $89 for the UPS (united postal service ) so that is correct .

I agree posting cost is high but its still cheaper than buying in Australia and our Mazda dealer s dont have them .

For those that are interested Tommys phone number is 0011 -703-749-6451 .

Rian Derrick a New Zealand Mazda dealer told me that the US part number for the bar or mask as they call them in US IS AS FOLLOWS .

Car bra Without front air dam : 0000- 8G-K01

Car bra with front air damm :0000-8G-k02

Those that have the wiper washers on the front bumpers will have to make allowances for these either by disconnetting them or adjusting the car bra as in US they dont get the wiper washer s.

Does anyone know how to dissconnect them?????????

cheers
