CAMS Membership and Club joining
CAMS Membership and Club joining
Im alittle confused.
I would love to be able to come to track days etc with my RX8 but i do not have a CAMS license and from my understanding you need to be a part of some form of club in order to be eligible for one.
Does anyone have any information on what club i can join or any other possible way to get a CAMS license. I know you can prob get a temp one on the day but i dont want to bother with temp licenses etc.
Thanks for any suggestions

Go to the Cams web page (www.cams.com.au) and look under clubs. They have a list of approved clubs that you can join. Then download the Level 1 License form and complete once you've joined the relevant club. Depending on the club, but I had my CAMS license within 10 days.
Hope this helps.

Be patient and there will very shortly be a rotary specific club in Sydney similar to REACT.
(Hi, Brad!)
REACT has CAMS affiliation and I believe the NSW club will be affiliated too.
And, you don't need a CAMS licence for the track day that ADJUST is organising, just a Wakefield licence which is $30 for a year. All you need to do is fill out a form.

If you go to Wakefield's site: http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/
And look in the events section you will see a bunch of listings for "open practice" days. They're $80 (plus licence, plus helmet[0]) and anyone can go. I've been told that it gets pretty quiet after 3pm.
[0] plus brake pads, fluid, petrol, time etc

Choppy,
come along and if poss. I will share my entry. I have done a day there with my late-but-not-lamented wrx sti, and am mainly attending to meet Hymee, L&L , ADJUST for the first time, and Ric Shaw again. And witness their various mods in action.
I am quite sincere about the offer.
