We haven't heard from some regulars - haddock, smoothy and wallerc so hopefully they might all chime in? Also hopefully kiwimeat might come along too and join the regulars club

And as if by magic..... :D

kiwimeat returns from a week at Palm Cove to say I'm pretty sure I can make it. Will probably be solo as kids were not so impressed with the twisty bits last time and wife definately doesn't enjoy them (with me driving anyway)

Still haven't got that UHF set yet though May have to do some shopping but it will have to be cheap after bleeding my credit card whilst in FNQ.

In the meantime my '8 needs a service and a good clean inside and out. I'll try and schedule that for the next week or so.

How do you want to decide the meeting point, lunch break stop, Route?
maybe some of us need to meet up and plan the day?
Let me know what you all want to do.

I'm keen to help with the planning.. We don't care where we go on the day - even if Ciao gets his turbo, we can drop in at Toowoomba and provide installation advice

Cheers
Adrian

Adrian

Dave ( Ciao ) lives on the Goldcoast

I think an early morning start would be advisable as the "Show and tell "section of the drive day may take up quite a bit of time .

Hymee as well as others like a good feed :D so its an executive lunch break 1 hour plus , the day will pass too quickly .

cheers

Even better... :D For the good of Brisbane's cruise day I think that Dave should postpone the turbo install until after the big day out... What say the others???

<Sound of Toyota hub cap flying through air from south> <bonk> Okay Dave, we know that you might not agree...

Surely there are plenty more owners out there who want to have a great day out, meet some of your fellow 8ers over a beer and lunch. Light beer that is. Will be a good day, believe me.
C'mon people.....
cheers,

By this time next week we should be starting the Barbie and getting ready for our two hour lunch...

Where will we meet?? I suggest an early start at a MacDonalds that is attached to a Shell :D or a BP servo somewhere along the gateway/highway....

Some options:
1. The new Shell at Banyo (off the Gateway)
2. The BP on the highway near the Caboolture turn off (North bound side)
3. The BP on the highway near the beaudesert turn off (South bound side)

Cheers

I have a suggested route. Includes twisty bits (optionally before lunch and definately after lunch) :D

It is available in DiscoverAus Streets & Tracks format for upload to a Magellan GPS.. PM me if you want a copy.. Otherwise I can do a PDF from the same application...

xxup Post a pdf and we can all look at it. otherwise my suggestion would be as follows.

I thought of heading north from BP Caboolture towards Woombye then onto Montville down thru Maleney with a lunch stop around Woodford.
Then up through Mount Mee down to the samford valley and end around Petrie.
Looking at the moment for suitable BBQ's around Woodford.

Let me know what you all think ?

We headed North on the last cruise - Caboolture, Mt Mee, Kilcoy, Wivenhoe, Mt Glorious. We went south on the one before. I'm easy on the drive (any excuse for a drive) but maybe we should try a different direction (West?).

Actually SCO,

18Jambo74's route is a little different to the last trip in that you need to go further north... The only real common bit is the return through Mt Mee... I agree that Lock & Load, Apana and Ciao might find it to be too far north... Anyway I sent you a PDF of this route too..

Laurence, please check your PM...

No problems guys... I'm easy on on the route... just offering some suggestions for consideration. My vote is for west, but I won't be upset at all if a different route is picked. Like I said... any excuse for a drive
