Ezzy,

Who did the work and how much? I'm considering this for the East Coat Targa Rally and would like genuine feedback. I know whiteline have some good stuff, any reason for not going with some of the brands like racing Beatm, Mazspeed etc.....

whiteline have been using my 8 for suspension development for a while. they are upto springs at the moment, and eventually they will have full range of suspension line-up, including coilovers. my sway bars are the first production ietms, and the non-adjustable and adjustable ones (27mm front & 18mm rear) are available now.

the main reason for using whiteline is that they have been good with their products and it is an australian company and the products are made for australian delivered cars for australian conditions, plus, it will be alot easier if you need after sale services.

Agree with EZZY

Any stronger sway bar will do. It does not have to be MazdaSpeed. I, more my mechanic, took the sway and I had a look. I can bend it with my arms! :p

Sways are the best physical mod but the best money should spend on getting to the track or drive day to learn driving/sprinit driving/racing the car probably - and sideways :D

Personally I think the best mod is an exhaust since it :

1.Improves performance (debatable)

2.Improves aural satisfaction (no longer sounds wimpy)

3.Improves appearance (no more pea shooter tips)

4.Increases attention (afterall, what good is driving a car that looks a million bucks if no one looks at it? )

U have a sway bar? Taka. When im driving on the tollway in Jkt and it turns at highspeed the car is not that stable its sways abit. so im a bit scared to turn at high speed. Im thinking of changing a sway bar. If its too expensive i'will just have to manufacture 1 thicker than the stock 1s. Cos labor in Indo is cheap. BTW wat material is suitable for the sway bay? solid aluminium?

My sway is from MazdaSpeed and it is solid aluminium. Slightly thicker than stock but 3 times as strong. Minimal body roll now.

Afraid to turn. No need. Come to our drive day and test it out. The 8 can turn. :p After my exam in Nov I can show you how I turn. :p

This thread reminded me of a discussion I had with one of the Mazda guys on Sunday's drive day. Mazda are close to authorising Mazdaspeed accessories in Australia, just waiting on a sign off apparantly. I presume this means there will either be an official Mazdaspeed outlet in Australia or available through the dealers.

draco... apparently there is the talk about it ... start of the year? The prices are similar as importing them though :o

I missed out asking them. It will still be months away and may not be the full line of MazdaSpeed stuff from Japan, most likely some of the items from Mazda US I would think.

I forgot to hassle that Asian dude there. He is pretty high up in the Mazda tree - Greg his name?

I am waiting them to import the MazdaSpeed kit at least. I am looking for the front spoiler :p Then the oil cooler, radiator, Defi meter, shock and springs perhaps, MazdaSpeed wheels perhaps, flywheels maybe,.... I should have brought more Santos stocks :p

Taka, that was the guy who told me, I am hopeless with names so couldn't tell you the name. He didn't say when, or how close it was, just that they were only waiting on a sign off to get it going.

That may be true... your Mazda money cheaters :D

I think it is good and Mazda sells it at their doors as it will become (in the eyes of insurance company) an "accessory" rather than a "modification". It is a big difference in price tag on their policy.
