Ouch! for your sake, I hope you don't know what you could get for that same amount of money over here Even though I think the 8 is as good to look at and as fun as cars twice it's price.

Sorry to intrude into your forum, but I lived in Perth for a couple years, and all of my in-laws live there still. Hopefully one day I'll be moving back, but if I can't let go of my 8, then it won't be till I can afford one over there (or maybe I should ship it... hmm... )

Perth too!

Hey people. I know this thread has been quiet for a little while, but as a new RX-8 owner I thought I'd say hello.

I bought a gun metal grey (sorry, don't know the technical name...like velocity red!) with 13,500 on the clock from Auto Classic in Burswood. I decided to trade in my Suzuki Liana (I know, a bit of a change!) and sell my Ducati 748, the theory being I wasn't riding it and the combined repayments of both are close to that of the RX8.

Was a tough choice, RX-8 or 350Z was what I narrowed it down to. Ultimately the style and the 4 seats of the RX-8 won me over, and I'm loving it! Nothing like having an ear to ear grin every time I get in the car

So this is all of us in Perth huh? I would love to catch up with some people and chat about their experiences with the car. I am slowly making my way through the forums, there are so many things I want to know. I have found out some stuff about tyres, I want to put a new stereo in so that's the next search. I also want to put an exhaust on it, a few of the cheaper performance modifications and some suspension tuning. Maybe down the track some more serious stuff, but we'll see.

Anyway, glad I found this place and nice to meet you all

Welcome Wings

Having recently beat a 350Z around Wakefield (as a noob to trackdays :o ), I reckon you made the right choice! :D

The colour you're thinking of is "Titanium Grey" or as xxup and I like to call it - "Stealth". :D :D

You will find that it is very easy to live with. While those who own black cars are washing them AGAIN, you and I will be driving. :p

Welcome Wings...at least you made a good choice in car, if not in colour I bet that Ducati wasn't grey

There's a few other West Coast supporters here; BVD pops his head up from time to time, to honour us with lengthy posts, written at a time the rest of us are sleeping. But then he seems to hibernate for a month or so

OK, well...

No, the Ducati wasn't "Titanium Grey", although I much prefer "Stealth" heheh :D

But it's all about class my friend! I could have actually gone with Red, there was one nearby, but I prefer subtlety. Each to their own I guess.

And I should clear up right now, despite being born and bred (other than 2 years living and working in Sydney 2002-2004) I am actually a North Melbourne Kangaroo's supporter...go figure

A Ducati owner pleading a preference for 'subtlety'; a Kangaroos supporter talking about 'class' -- now I've heard it all :D

Ah well, won't give you a hard time :o hope you are enjoying the car. Driving it still gives me a silly grin, after 2 years!

hehe, good one Timbo.

Although I will say Ducati owners have class (and discerning taste in motorcycles).

BTW - Wings, Aitch - check out the owner's map for more sandgropers and get yourself added. See https://www.rx8club.com/australia-new-zealand-forum-37/rx-8-club-com-owners-map-aus-nz-22631/

hi everyone,

after some drama i should be picking up my 8 next wednesday. Then i can be an official owner . I saw the advert for the one from autoclassic after i placed my order unfortunately :/. Looked like a steal if the price was anything below what I saw it advertised for! Grats on the great buy.
