It's a big key with a rotor in it, but it didn't come in a pouch. It's chrome on both sides.

Pre-order customers recieved the key you mention above with our welcome pack, except that one side is chrome and the other side is coded to the same colour as our car. The key came in a nice leather box.

Didnt you know its rude to scratch there in public .

On a serious note good to see members using the keyas an everyday key and not storing it as a collectors item .

Tenakoto Maestro,

what's this about a key with a rotary badge on it?

I didn't get one of those?

* dials the 24/7 road side support line * "..hey, where's my god damn key dude!?"

Good luck with 24/7 Roadside assist.. it's outsourced.

Guys.

Coloured ROTOR keys came with the pre-order cars. Now you can get any colour as long as its black.

I buy them for $70 in bulk as I do a special mod to them for the guys with RX-7's, RX-3's etc etc. They are a great accessory for those fanatical rotor heads too.

Heck, I even have one for my Cosmo.

If you want one for your earlier Mazda rotary, it requires modification & will cost you $100 pre-cutting. Contact me at DMRH

sco,

> ..preorder

as in order prior to the car being released to the market? If so - no.

ah crap.

> Good luck with 24/7 Roadside assist..

do you know to whom?

I was curious when they did the whole post sales phone up etc with info as to who it was but the phone jocky who rang me said she didn't know.

I've been contemplating signing up to most of the countries NRMA type organisations in light of the fact that I intend to drive the little blue waggon around the country in the next 5 years - including the Darwin to Adelaide "cannon ball run" type drive next year all going well.

Not sure off the top of my head... there is a link to a PDF in the documentation you got from Mazda (maybe in a letter or on the black quick start guide thingy)... I can check tonight.

I did a comparison of the roadside assist benefits vs RACQ and the roadside assist was actually slightly better... in particular the limitations on the number of km's from the nearest town condition was better for the roadside assist. If you're doing lot's of K's I'd be definitely looking into something better than standard roadside assist (e.g. Ultra care or whatever NRMA's equivalent is)

whoa!

thanks a zillion sco - I should have just used my bloody search engine ( WebSearch.COM.AU ) to find it I guess - "silly daddy" as my 2 year old says to me when I stuff up !!

for some reason I can't get to the mazda AU site right now - either their ISP or their link / hosting provier must be down [ sigh ] - I bet they wish they were hosted by CradleTechnologies.COM [ hee hee ] right now!

Will snafoo the PDF when they are back on line.

++dez;

ps: appologies for seemingly gratuistous (sp!? ) link inclusions folks..

that does it.. now I'm officially not happy..

I can forgo some hinky $120 key, but if there's a $5 t-shirt missing, I'm not happy!

Dez, I tell you no lies.

Mine is a little too large for me (I got an L... should have got an M)... so if anyone wants to swap... let me know your offer.

Dez, surely if you are a member of your states NRMA, RACV or whatever, then you get reciprocal membership when in another state. This is certainly the case in Victoria and i would assume elsewhere. Only one more week of waiting till my 8 arrives!

sco:

oh have mercy, sheeze..

thanks a zillion for the pic, thats well and truly up there on the "hey, I'd wear that" list.

I am 100% going to ring Mazda and ask where mine is..

I've started to mock up a couple of t's that I'm going to get a mate who owns a shirt printing firm to knock up - once I have the costs etc locked in for near cost t's and postage etc, I'm planning to post to see if anyone is interested in getting some.

Thanks for taking the pic and posting!

aussie8:

apparently this is the case, I've spoken with NRMA about getting a list of the actual deals that you get by being a member if you're outside NSW - stay tuned for what they send me..

I'm really serious about clocking up some solid k's next year in particular with some long range drives, but before that I really want to be able to get someone on the phone to come sort out issues if I get stuck in the middle of thearseendofnowheresville any time.

thanks for the heads up though!

hey - don't I recognise that "nic" from #aussies by some chance? IRC that is?
