Apparently there is a RX8 in America that does 9sec
I wonder if it is true?

I'm pretty sure you are referring to a car that is a purpose built drag chassis, with a RX-8 look alike fibre-glass body, and a 2 or 3 rotor 13B / 20B turbo charged.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Forgot the detail of the car but I am sure Hymee was talking about that Orange colour drag car with a K&N logo on the bonnet??

When I found it I will add in here

He's running an RX-7 engine (13B REW) - not a Renesis (13B MSP) if I've got my nomenclature correct.

Army,

I would think he has a 3-rotor in it, doing those times. But Wildcard has just looked at what was printed, and quoted it. I think the article might be in error.

Cheers,
Hymee.

What?

Someone told you a fib about a 9 sec RX8 or a fib about the 8 being able to dust off a 200sx? :p

Try 6's Able's RX-8 runs a 20B Turbo with NOS.

Its about as much RX-8 as a slot car though.

but so is every other pro-import

Don't forget the first rotary in the world to go 200+ MPH was here in Brisbane. If you can call Willowbank Brisbane. And yours truly has had the pleasure of seing the guru tuning the engine of it (20B, 3 x turbo's) on an engine dyno. :D

Cheers,
Hymee.

As many revs and as "firmly" as you can without spinning the wheels (much). So the stickier the tyres are, the better. The more you slip the clutch (i.e. slow take up) the more you will fry it. Then on the other hand, too fast a take up and to much power (i.e revs) with lots of grip could cause the diaphram to let go (i.e. lunch the pressure plate assy).

Lots to think about, hey???

Cheers,
Hymee.

You mean an "upgraded turbo kit" don't you?

Since all 200SX's are turbocharged, I should hope so, otherwise if you were unaware of this fact, you're not choosing your opponents wisely.

I would have thought a stock S15 would take an RX8 pretty easy? They are quite a bit lighter, (1240kg I think?) and have more power and torque.
