One of the adverts that occasionally pops up on this site is for Injected Performance and the two cars they front the ad with are Z's (yuk ). They may have some okay stuff (..and pay good money to be there! ) but come on, the administrators should have insisted that they front the ad on this site with a couple of Titanium 8's. I'm not looking for any performance enhancing stuff..... for my 8..... , but if I was I wouldn't go to a place that brags about Z's when they could have used 8's.

 

And what does this have to do with Australia?

Well, you can always exercise choice in not looking at the adverts; I know I don't :p

We've even had the odd Z owner post here -- well, it's a free country, with freedom of speech. But it does make me wonder even more about the underwhelming Z :p

 

umm... so what, by having that, it allows you to be able to visit/read/post.
couldnt see anything wrong with the ad, the 8 and z are in the same class, and like timbo said, there are a couple of z owners frequent this forum, and the vendor may be a ble to make a few sales out of it, so more sponsorship for the forum

Your ads are okay Hymee (besides, you're an 8 owner/forum acclaimed guru) , if I were to get any mods I would definitely consult your good self first. I'm not having a go at the other self professed guru's , just reassuring Hymee that he has not wasted his money....... you'll be okay mate! :p

Hey TOOTH FAIRY, long time no hear......you chased any Zeds through the Adelaide Hills lately :D

 

A couple of things spring to mind... firstly, you noticed the ad because it wasn't an RX-8... maybe it was deliberate? Like one of those really annoying ads on the TV you can't ignore.

Secondly, they're within their rights to do it, but is it necessarily smart. If I advertised sCANalyser on an XR6 Turbo forum, I wouldn't use pictures of an RX-8 and even worse, the arch enemy a Holden. (Unless of course I deliberately tried the tactics above.)

 

I don't really see whats the big deal about it though?! On the 350z forum (Aussie section), I saw people complaining about Ford/Holden posting ads there... I just donj't see the point of it though.... because each forum member might have more than 1 car and it might happen to have the car that those vendors are advertising... do those ads hurt you in any way?

Personally, I don't think much of the 350Z but if others love it, good on them.

As for the ads - hey, it's hard enough to get sponsors for anything without dissing them. So what if they make products for a range of cars. If they also make stuff for RX8s they've got the right to be here.

Would be pretty boring if we only ever liked the same things.
