1 Aug Aust Release Date?

Spoke to my dealer this morning who told me my rx-8 would be in today or tomorrow and could pick up then.

Just rang me back and said that Mazda Aust has just informed them that the official release date is 1 Aug 03 and that they can't release anything until then. Has anyone else been told this? I noticed in last thread a different dealer had mentioned 29 July?

Please help me tell my dealer that other people are getting their cars prior to 1 aug so I can get mine sooner.

Oh, I can look at it of course!!!!!! This is going to kill me!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

My dealer was originally saying this to me as well. The latest story that I have got from them is that my car will be arriving at the wharf on the 25th July and that when they get it I can have it.

I hope this helps!!

Smile MY RX8 IS READY FROM THE 23RD

DEALER has confirmed that all the finance for my rx8 has been approved and i can pick it up on wednes day the 23rd of july ,however iwill have to wait till saturday afteernoon as D,wife and my 3 boys want to be there for the delivery ,i suppose they have had a partly abseente father for the last 8 months who has spent a lot of time talking on the internet and raving about the new edition to the family. SIMMON DEBBIE AND OTHERS I KNOW that we are all eager to get the rx8 ,however the long wait is worth it .

As i live on the GOLD COAST ,but having purchased from a brisbane dealer i am lucky enough to be poosible the 1st rx8 on the gold coast getting it on saturday26 th of july ,maybe iwill drive the 1900 kilometres to melbourne , but your winter would freeze my butt and my wife would file for divorce .

The official launch date is still August 1. I believe that some dealers are releasing them earlier but as far as Mazda Australia is concerned the dealers are meant to wait till August.

Mine hits the post on July 28 and the dealer will have it for August 1. I however will not get it till a week after that as they have to add the aerokit that i ordered and the spoilers etc don't come in the country painted. The have to be colour matched and installed after delivery.

I'm purchasing the accessories post delivery to avoid the luxury car tax on these items.

Sounds like the only option I have is to plead with the dealer to bend the rules slightly. The thought of my car sitting in some show room for 10 days makes me sick. I guess though it may give them time to fit accessories (see, looking for a bright side)!

At least they are nearly here!!!!

They offered a test drive of the dealer vehicle but I told them that this would just make things worse!

My dealer is talking 29th... I'd love to push for an earlier date, but with the drive day the day before, it doesn't make sense.

Pity though, as I have to drop my son at Uni in Armidale on the 27th, so 500k each way would make a pleasant trip.

My dealer delivered his first car yesterday(Sunday 20/07/03) and another one today (monday 21/07/03) . I saw the cars being detail and going through all the pre-delivery check. Don't believe about Mazda Australia's release date crap. The only reason they don't want to deliver your car simply because they want to put it at their showroom floor. Most dealer will have their demo by the end of this week, before that they want to keep your car to show to potential buyers. Push them, trust me they will release it. I am very positive about this as I saw one red RX8 yesterday, and 100% positive it is not press car. Also a yellow one last week.

Don't let them take advantage of your car. Most of the dealers I went to last weekend let me and many people to have a look inside and sit in it. I am not sure about Eurocars Mazda since I never ask them to open it, I have seen enough for the day. I just came to check for the blue. Can't wait for my blue one to arrive in mid August.
:D

My dealer just rang and said that Mazda has given the green light for release... so I'm looking at getting it this week if possible (they may have a car for me to drive)...suggest you give your dealer a push if they are delaying...

So, I may be going to the drive day after I've pickup up my car !!!

That's funny, however we don't get to drive on a racetrack that often so you'll still have a blast!

Glad to hear re mazda, will be calling dealer first thing in the morning with the news.

Also ordered my accessories today:

Front Air Dam
Rear Under Deflector
Rear Spoiler
Side Skirts
Fender Strakes
Rotary Crests
Scuff plates

Giddy up!!!

Cheers guys

Just to let everyone know that the info posted here has resulted in me gettng my car early! Rang dealer and after I hit him with the info off the forum he didn't pursue his original issues and is organising release as soon as we can present cheques and our tinting is done etc, Will still be next week however the car rocked up today and I was able to look at it so we are nearly there!

See, this forum rocks!

Fantastic to hear you've seen your car...this is exciting.

Looks like I'll be picking mine up about the same time.

Don't think I would have survived the last 6-12 months without the forum!

Wow, well done. Very nice to hear indeed. My winning blue is on its way to Australia and due to arrive mid August. I can only drool over mssyd's car, since mssyd's RX8 is the only blue in Sydney. I also left so many fingerprints on his car. :p

simondebbie, what colour is your RX8?

Hi,

My dealer called yesterday saying that my Winning Blue RX-8 was just delivered. I'm picking it up Monday!

I still haven't driven a RX-8.

Sunlight Silver

Our 8 is sunlight Silver. I hadn't seen this colour in the flesh until yesterday and was holding off on deciding on the car until I'd seen it (having fallen in love with the Black at the drive day) however after seeing the silver I'm definitely purchasing. The lighter colours really bring out the lines, I actually noticed lines in the roof and other areas that I hadn't noticed on the drive day (though there was a lot to take in then of course!)

Can't wait to see the car with the strakes fitted, have seen some pics on this forum and they really work well with the silver.
