anytime from 9.30 onwards. I've got my self booked at 9.30 since my mom is here so I can't hang out very long. Do you want to come around 9.30 as well, and probably have your dyno after me (that is if there's no queue already). I can come to ur place in the morning and leave together if u want.

Sorry joel, when you pay on Sunday, the 10 first spot is already filled in (you're the 11th if it makes you feel any better ), so you can't choose the time I tried to get an exception for you but the organiser can't do it.

List is closed, no more entry accepted.

On the day of the Event, you will be given this form, please ensure all the details are correct (Not everyones' details will be completed anyway)

FOR ALL N/A CARS - The Dyno Graph will be Power (Kws) against Tractive Force

FOR YOU FORCED INDUCTION BOYS - Power(Kws), Road Speed, Manifold Pressure

Due to the overwhelming and unexpected large response to this event, we are trying very hard to accomodate participants' desire to be on the Dyno at the specified time, we will try our best and at this stage we are still compiling the list for all 35 cars as to ensure the day is run smoothly and without any delays.

I thank you all for your patience and understanding.....

This is the Top Ten Starters List for those who enthusiastically paid up

TOP TEN STARTERS (in the order of the run)

* Black-8’s Mazda RX-8 RWD
* Astro’s Mazda RX-8 RWD
* Gerald’s Subaru Legacy 2.5 AWD
* Steve’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 AWD
* Mental’s Honda Integra FWD
* Ferio’s Honda Civic EM1 FWD
* Actionman’s Honda DA9 FWD
* Neddy’s Mitsubish Magna FWD
* Type40’s Mitsubishi Magna FWD
* Mugen88’s Honda Accord Euro FWD

To help us ensure that the event runs smoothly, we would really appreciate if you could:
-Check that your tyre pressures are even on both sides of the car before the Dyno Day.
-Engine Oil level is sufficient before the Dyno Day.
-On the Dyno Day, please tell us what RPM do you want your car to go up to, if you have no idea, we will only run it up to REDLINE.

Other factors that might prevent you from getting your car dynoed on the Dynamometer:
- While all care will be taken to ensure your car goes on and off the dyno safely, there is a risk of damge to the car if it is excessively low and will impede loading on the Dyno, please advice us if you do not wish to continue
- Cars producing excessive emissions will be disqualified

WARNING: Dynamometers are VERY LOUD when it is under operation, we would like to advice you to bring ear muffs if you can

hmmm- you may want to check the torque figure seeing as typically 8's make just over 1/2 that figure .

KWs look spot on for stock car

I don't know the exact formula to convert tractive torque on the dyno to flywheel torque. I have just written what was plotted. I am aware how much the nominal torque is for a Renesis engine as quoted by Mazda.

If anyone could provide a formula... please enlighten me!.

We have told you all before. The dyno guy explained that is due to the LSD so it will read higher than from the flywheel.

You pulled over 400Nm last time

I did, but it was on 4th gear.

4th gear results:
127.5 kw
449.5 Nm

5th gear for the RX8 is 1:1.
I believe that torque figure for 4th would be higher due to the torque multiplication that goes with a lower gear ratio.

Well... so far, after all the track usage and spirited driving my car still looks normal!

Maybe we should organise another dyno day for RX8s to attend. It would be great to see what mods actually does what!. I'm interested in a car fitted with hi-flow cat and headers. Do it about October after the Nats.

Every dyno run will always have different results. Hence, it is a great idea to have more than 1 car of the same type to compare results. Overall, the idea of doing an annual dyno run for me is to see whether my power delivery has depleted significantly or whether it is still normal.

As Iggy pointed out to me today, 5th gear is a 1:1 ratio in the RX8. I believe we should tell the operator to use fifth gear when dynoing our precious RX8.

Ohhh, on the huge projector screen one would see my car revving beyond 10200rpm!. I asked the operator and said fuel cut out happened about 9300rpm+ in my car. I'm sure fuel cut-out happens about 9500rpm on third and gears below.

On the video screen at fuel cut out, the speed registered was 235km/h. There was a technician sitting beside the front wheel when the car was being dynoed. That guy had guts. I thought the funniest moment was on the third run when one of the operator removed his earmuff and on full revs he was forced to stick his fingers in his ears and closed his eyes. As an observer, I thought that sight was funny.

I hope Iggy has some videos to upload.

Yeah, I got some videos to upload soon. Just got back from the place, pretty tired.

I did only 109.5kw & 349.7Nm torque. Hopefully it's because the engine is still running in (only done 5,400kms). If I heard correctly, the conversion is 0.33. I could have heard wrong though

And Joel's not stock, he got intake and catback.

I agree, I think we should set a precedent and make all dyno operators to run 8's in 5th only problem is that most people dont know that the 8 runs 1:1 in 5th gear. Heck I didnt know until after the last time we did it. In fact I didnt even know that it was important to know
