[NSW] Photo Shoot - Can you beat this?

Okay, to pinch an idea off the Vic's (thanks Kall ), I suggest we also convene a photo shoot for the Sydneysiders (and of course any country dwellers who wish to join in ).

Not being a camera buff, I wouldn't know where to start but since you're a competitive lot, I thought I'd spur you on with a few happy snaps I took yesterday arvo. It sure sets a low bar!

So, can you beat it?

Suggestions please for dates, locations, snappers...

(I was in such a hurry to beat the rain that was threatening, I committed a cardinal sin when snapping - can you spot it? ).

Left date on? Didn't line up the wheel so the brand can be read easily? Didn't wash car? What!? Pretty good pics all the same.

By the way, where did you source you chrome fuel cap?

You came closest . The writing on the centrecap is upside down.

As for plates and dates - I couldn't give a stuff. Rego info isn't that hard to come by if you have any serious intent.

And I washed the car (but only a quick once over really).

The alloy fuel cap was a Mazda option fitted by the dealer (i.e. before I found this and similar sites and discovered it's cheaper to go elsewhere). I believe japanparts.com, etc have them available.

we shoulda do a photo session at night.. i'm sorry but the Melbourne one's took by Kall looked so much better partly because of nightshot and partly coz the car had some water on it making the lighting look great...

Great, let's forget about my photos (which were only posted to stimulate a response) and get cracking on the real reason for the thread.

I agree a night shoot would be good. Let's have some suggestions as to locations, dates, snappers, etc.

Should you believe the location needs to remain confidential, PM me and I'll PM anybody interested or perhaps set up an email group for further discussion off-forum.

BTW, thanks for the compliments guys but I'm sure we can do better than my lame effort.

Are gatecrashers a problem?

Interested in any pitfalls from someone with the experience of doing this kinda thing.

Photo shoot + coffee meet up sounds good.

Its quite hard if you go to industrial estates as you get usually hassled by security guards as they think you might be doing something untowards. Which could be true...

The last one I did was at my building my mate has an office in. Quite new and not fully occupied as yet. I'll see if we can use it on week/Fri night.

Apart from that, not sure a good spot apart from Olympic park ie. (Sorry, its fords)

Okay Kall, thanks . I guess that ******** element is also more pervasive at night too.

In that case, let's have EOI's and proposed dates only and once we agree on a date we'll manage location via PM.

Chris, nice pic and thanks for the suggestion . Please look into it but we'll see what others come up with before any decisions are made.

The next Sydney cruise seems to be struggling to attract interest so hopefully a night event will bring in some bigger numbers.

(Hmm, not sure why I'm bothering really ).

Here's a pic of my car.

as you can see, my photographic skillz are sorely lacking.

I blame it on the funny lighting at the location, and my total inability to work any type of camera equipment at all....

so saying that, I'm sure if a hollywood movie star sees this and calls it "art" then I will be able to sell it for millions!

you are going to have "problems" taking pix with large number of cars anywhere near the olympic park stadiums.... we got told to leave by the patrolling guards last time. we had about 15 mazda cars.... so we went to the nearby carpark (with no stadium view...)
