The install looks great laythor. Where did they ground it?
they grounded it to the chassis in the trunk

there's two fuses coming off the battery (two runs), one for my amp, the other for the run going all the way up to the engine bay, 60amp was left on the stock harness.

i'll keep my eye out, anyone running around with a 3/4 full of fluid stock RX8 battery is in for a poundin!

I was looking at mounts like Team showed, but since I don't track my car and still use my trunk for "trunk like activities" I decided it wasn't for me. I had planned on fabbing something out of carpet myself, but was very happy to see my installer took it upon himself to do it for me

since it's in a place that was pretty useless for trunk space i didnt really lose anything by having it put there. The MS strut bag basically makes putting anything in that area impossible

Started my swap tonight. Still need to bolt the new box down and rework the disconnect switch/ground cables to complete it. Hate to add 40 lbs to the car, but it's good for distribution. My cornerweights should all be within 20 lbs now, which is excellent.

Went with the dual-purpose blue top because my car sits for extended periods and the race pulley setup results in a lot of battery cycling. The extra pair of threaded terminal studs also allow my race cable setup to swap over easy.

before (Odyssey 545 race battery) and after (Optima D34M blue top)

Brettus: you want weight to be within the wheelbase, not outboard of wheelbase, putting the battery further back in the well area creates a lever arm between the weight location and rear wheels which may cause the rear end to have rotational spin momentum under certain handling circumstances
