I did a search, didn't know if this was up here yet. I have no idea if this is real or not, but I personally like it... and a 1.8

 

Yeah someone posted something about it a while ago. Nobody knows what is going to be the next RX car.

 

 

Reminds me a lot of a 350Z.. I don't like it at all.

Looking at the second article found in the link, the side looks alright, but the front face and rear end just look bad IMO.

The new 1.8L engine sounds like a winner though. I hope they keep the 4 seats and doors of he RX8 though

 

There's no way that is the car the next rotary is going into. The *** end looks just like a z. In fact, I'll guarantee that is a photoshopped 350 or 370z. The side looks just like the shortened 370z. Doesn't incorporate anything that resembles the futuristic design cues that recent mazda concepts have been showing. If that would somehow be a fairly accurate concept, I would be parting ways with Mazda immediately.

god that sort of looks like 350z choped up and put a rx8 front on to it hope they make it more sharp

 

Damn this one actually looks pretty awesome, the front is a bit too busy, sorta like 370z, but gotta say sure beats the 1st link.

Yeah its believable i think it was featured in Turbo mag or Superstreet. It was green though instead of black....it was going to take over the RX7...(being turbocharged)........the rx8 was already out....so i dont know how they said that in the magazine...but yeah i seen it before in green

 

 

Just for reference. I want you all to know that Mazda have already done an RX-9. From 1978-1981

In "General issue" countries the export version of the LA43S Luce was called the RX-9.

^^^^EDIT**** I do see..yes already an RX9 ....the next rotary is gonna be the RX7 (yeah i know it already exists) but its gonna be turbocharged...thats why they are going with the RX7 name.......I have a feeling......in my gut...im telling u.... i dont konw what they are going to do with the rx8......:-(

The more rotaries the better....the more readily available parts...MAZDA will feed off the $$$ of rotaries.

Also...wouldnt it be sick....i mean two different model Rotaries? Thats what we need...a rotary miata, for people who like convertibles, a rx8 for the people who like body styling, and a rx7 for people who wanna kill V8's...They did it with the RX7 Twin Turbo...they;ll do it with the new RX....and im guessin 7


I talked to my service manager at MAZDA weeks ago and i asked him why he doesnt have a rotary (he drives the new miatas) and he said...."he's waiting for the turbocharged rotary in 2012...he didnt say no names...he said that the RX-8 is whats for lunch...not Dinner....And then i got pissed off cuz i was like...THEN i wasted my money!!! He knows something we dont...im guessing MAZDA gave us the RX8 to feed off of until they perfect a rotary>? I mean if they never came out with the RX8....they would have a gap from the RX7 in their SPORTSCAR category...so they gave us something to feed off of and keep the rotary spirit alive until they come with the big rotary monster.

Truth is the actual model will look completely different anyways. Remember the original RX8 concept; it looks way uglier that all of ours. Ill just be patient and wait.

2012 is a long ways off. You have to drive something in the meantime, right?

You've got a fine machine right now that will probably have pretty high mileage by then and you'll be ready for a new ride anyway.

So relax!

We've got so many chops, renderings, speculation floating around about next RX- not many people know what to expect. Hopefully some early concept will drop at next Tokyo Auto show or something.

 

That article was posted almost a year ago, of course we've seen this :p

I really can't wait to see the true concepts, though.

 

If indeed the 16x car would be a 2012 with a mid-late 2011 release, would it be reasonable to see some sort of concept at this Novembers auto show?

Of all the concepts, drawings, sketches and other crap I've seen this is the best looking one IMHO
