Click this bar to view full image

It is good, and I hope it stays....it stops oversizing of pics and is a lot easier for viewing..
You cant seriously suggest that it is a hassle to 'click' on an image...it does apply to everyone.
Plus helps for those who have narrow-band and I guess the forum's owner server rates?..
This is still a Free Member Forum with no limits.

ok ok I get all that
But do we really need the stupid bar above the pic
Honestly I think most ppl would understand that the server re-sized the pic on upload and if you click it you would get the full size.
This isn't a new concept
Having to see " click the bar for full image" everywhere looks like ****
IB makes money by selling ads to the ppl that uses it's website.
We are paying by being here (our time and our eyes) so IB can sell ads for us to look at (or click).
It's probably less about helping NB users than it is another way to increase profit margins I guess but reducing bandwidth.

Im aware that items like this are usually a business implementation decision not a forum admin function.
There is some guy from Barry that I see post every now and then we the servers die. I believe he actually is a IB employee.
Only reason I noted this is because it surprised me as he is only an hour away due north.
Nice skiing and sledding up there.

Yeah... I don't mind it, I just wish it was larger for the base image. Or smaller, actually. It's almost like a tease because it's larger than just a thumbnail but not large enough for most images.
If the purpose is to eliminate the issue of oversized images skewing the screen, then set the acceptable resolution much higher and just resize the huge images.
If the purpose is to reduce bandwidth, then use a standard sized thumbnail and make it clickable without the bar at the top. Maybe something similar to when there's the attached images box at the end of a post.
This design just seems awkward, even if it saves bandwidth or prevents oversized images from skewing the page size.

Bump.
It sounds stupid/whiney but I absolutely detest the minimized images + ads over each image!! It makes viewing photoshoot threads stupid. No longer can you click a thread and leisurely browse. Now you must click the thread, then enlarge since an ad will be covering the thumbnail.
I'm sure my viewing of rx8club has inadvertently decreased due to this.
Yes, I understand mods/admin had zero input to this & my opinion has no real value, just venting.

The those ads that have to be clicked off over every picture are definitely annoying. But as a cheapskate I'd rather have a free forum, so I'll live with them.
I do enjoy the idea that they seem to be mostly for Cadillacs. I doubt if this forum is really the right demographic for that, so someone is getting screwed even worse than the inconvenience of clicking them off. Schadenfreude can be sweet indeed.

I have a silly little app I published on Google Play called "Poke Back for Facebook". Embedded within it is an admob banner and I provide a "help link" back to my website too.
On my site I have an adsense banner embedded on the Poke Back help page.
Back in December Mark Zuckerburg announced some stupid Enhanced Poke application for Facebook and my silly little app went from about 1,000 installs to 10,000 in like 10 days. Since then it's grown to 30,000+ downloads.
I generate about 3,000 impressions a day thru the app and admob.
I generate about 1,200 impressions a day thru the my little "help" webpage.
For the past two months I've got two checks each month for a little over $100 each from Google and Admob (admob is actually a division of Google).
Now imagine an army of 3,000+ unique visitors today walking a website with all the garbage we have to navigate here.

BTW, thank you to whoever made the call to switch things back!!! It seemed like soon after posting in this thread it was fixed.
This was not the issue - we all know forums are not free to operate. However, when other large forums can get by just fine without implementing what 8club had for a while, it makes one wonder.
