My previous car was a Grand Am GT with the SC/T Performance-Appearance Package. When I was on those forums they had a "Grand Am of the Month" (maybe it was week... I dunno). But it was a cool idea. They'd have people submit photos and then have a poll to see what the community liked most. Then the person that won would have their winning pic displayed at the top of the forum home page (not to mention bragging rights).
That was one aspect of the forum I really enjoyed. I don't know if it has been suggested before but an "RX-8 of the Week" would be a nice addition to the forums in my opinion. Let me know what you think!

It's funny how opinions vary so much. I actually hate shakeyourbrakes car, it looks gross. But if we all liked the same styles this hobby would be lame.

Also, would you mind explaining why you think this idea is immature? Many people put a lot of time into their rides and it's just a way for those people to get the exposure they deserve for working hard and making their '8 unique.
Yep, opinions vary widely. Which is exactly why a poll would work perfect. People with all different tastes would vote for their particular favorite. No ride will please all viewers, just as no music will please all listeners. Doesn't mean it is something that shouldn't be done.

It's never stuck because it was either the same cars being nominated every month or people actually resorted to cheating on the voting. (we had a whole lot of newly registered members mysteriously voting)
I for one think it would be fun if taken with a grain of salt and we could get some form of support from the mods / admins to maybe feature a banner of the car somewhere in appreciation.
The tough thing becomes how to judge such a thread but I'm sure all that can be sorted out somehow.

There has to be members on here that could organize this type of thing. Hell, I'm usually on this forum multiple times per day, although I doubt the mods/admin would entrust this to a noob on the forum.

I've seen of the Month, and Of The Quarter pulled off pretty well on various sites. Of course, of the Quarter, was a smaller site.
