Broken Transmitter on Key
Help? I just bought a Shinka last Saturday. While reviewing the little things that needed to be fixed (paint chip, bubble on b-pillar, small scratch in leather), I pulled the key out of the ignition and it "separated".
The key was still in the ignition and I had the electronic controls in my hand. While we could put it back together, it just as easily came apart again. The other key had no issues. I asked them to work on it while they were fixing the other stuff.
The sales guy calls back today and says they can't fix it and don't want to glue it because it has to open when you need to change the battery.
It's not a huge deal, but I don't want the pieces to get seperated on accident and lose 1/2. Has anyone experienced this issue? Any ideas for a fix that doesn't require permanent glue? I asked him to order a new one and he's "checking".

Assuming that you have the 2005 1 piece key and remote. If so, there is a little plastic tab on the key portion that clicks into the remote portion. If that little plastic tab is broken, insist that they replace the key half. It can be replace with another blank. The blank key needs to be recut and programmed. You can see instructions in the DIY forum.
