I spoke with the sales manager yesterday, they have 8 RX-8's confirmed for this tueday (July 15). He told me that he believes that they will actually arrive on Thursday (July 17). He told me 100 pct that either Tuesday or Thursday he will have 8 of them.

Also, they only presold 1 Rx-8 so they are for sale.

Strange. When I call them in May, the Manager claimed that I would be in the 2rd allocation. That makes me wonder. Is the manager saying they only pre-sole one out of their dealer allocation? Or, is he talking about the manufacturer's Pre-Order allocations?

 

What's going on there? I preodered mine's in May as well. I can't be the only one that preordered at Magussen's Mazda in Freakmont. I checked out the dealer inventory and did see my car with the VN#. I hope they're not going to jack me and sell my car to the next highest bidder.

 

I dont know, I called yesterday thats what he said. Why dont one of you call and ask and report back to see what they say?

I just called and said

"When does the Rx8 arrive at your dealership"

He said

"I have a delivery of 8 that is scheduled for Tuesday, but my gut feeling is that they will arrive on Thursday, I get my shipments on those 2 days. one of those days for sure".


I said

"are those the Rx-8's for the ones that pre-ordered".

He said

"We only sold 1 Rx-8 in pre-order at this dealership."

I thought that was odd too. Either way Im gonna check out the RX8 this coming weekend.

 

I'll meet you there. lol. Seriously I'm going to check out the dealership on tuesday and thursday, and the weekend just for good form. lol

I was totally thinking about doing that, but I drive an FC with no badges so I highly doubt the sales person would know the difference. I mean, even the lamen know what an fd looks like. lol. So this is my new plan. Wait for one of you guys to get one of yours, pick me up and drop me off in front of the window. Like right in fron tof the lot. LOL.

I was able to get my car with GT options for 32K out the door. I just hope that they don't jack up the price when I come in and pick up my preordered car. I've got his statement on my email and printed it out just in case.

 

Who was your internet sales person. Oh yeah, don't forget you need to walk over the nissan lot, upstairs, that's where mazda's fleet and internet sales is located.

If I'm not mistaken the person I talked to was Joe Huang. . . or something like that. lol. Don't remember, it's been so long. I'm pretty sure they're not going to jack up the price on preorders. He explained to me that the reason why they're not putting on dealermarkup is because internet preorder were helping them get rid of their allocation. If only 1 of them gets sold on the internet that means there's still 7 left they need to get rid of. They get an allocation of about 8 per month. That's a lot of cars to get rid of. Preorders is what was helping them do that. Or atleast that how Joe explained it.

 

Anyone did more research on Magnussens' claim that they nly pre-sold one RX-8?

 

I called today, spoke with the sales manager TOM. They will have the Rx-8's in today by 3-4 PM. He did say there is a chance still there could be a problem with the shipment if that happens it will be thursday for sure, but he is 95 pct sure they will be in today. Im goin' after work.

 

have to wait 2 more days. Thursday "For sure".

 

Did Tom the Manager verify how many 8's are spoken? Also, how many car is he expecting on Thursday?

 

If I remember correctly, Tom said that they were getting 7 or 8 in and 2 have been pre-sold...i too will be there for sure when they get them in... and hopefully to give it a test drive!

 

Sup Cagefreak. My internet sales manager was David Aganon. He first quoted me 32550 OTD for a automatic silver with GT options MSRP was 30300 on the net. I was able to talk him down to 32K even out the door which includes tax and licensing.

I just got back from the dealership!!! They have ONE left!!! They received 2 according to the salesmonkeys.

The YELLOW 6spd with Nav. is the only one there now... they sold a blue one that I didn't get to see but it's on the lot!!! NOT IN THE SHOWROOM!?!

Only a $9000 markup...

total price $42,000 and change...

Needless to say I didn't get to test drive it but it was HOT LOOKING!!! Sitting in it, the only thing that struck me as weird is the sightlines... The windshield is really short (exotic car like) and the rear view mirror seemed to block the view of the upper right side view... weird....

Now I guess it's just a waiting game before I can get one near invoice...

ZeroBanger and I just got back from the Fremont Mazda. The yellow RX-8 was the only one left. The blue one is sold and is in the back getting detailed. And the markup is $8,995.

Dislikes:
1. Rubber seats
2. The "feel" of the rotary shift ****
3. Rubber seats
4. Lots of cheap plastic, being consistent with the FD :D


Tests drives are a joke, don't even bother asking unless you're handing over a check for $42k.

ZeroBanger with the 94 black FD started asking a bunch of annoying and retarded questions to the sales person, AFTER we pulled up in my FD :bonk:

1. So is this a V6?
2. Does this thing have a turbo or supercharger?
3. So it's an inline 6 then?
4. So this thing has 1 or 3 rotors?
5. So this thing has two engines or rotors?

Haha I was shaking my head.......

Nope just straight up rubber, but not 100% rubber. The sides and part of the *** seating area is pure rubber. The rest is cloth. And the entire backing side of the seats are full plastic. sheesh....

 

I think the front is as beautiful as the FD's front end. Thats where it ends though.

I was looking forward for like 4 years for this car and I feel let down. I think in 2 door trim it will be sweet. I just thought it looks odd, even the back seat with that thing inbetween the seats, looks strange.

The only thing that makes me happy...well 2 things.

1) The rotary is back.
2) Aint no way anyone will be able to do a V8 conversion


By the way, it has the same engine as the rx7 except its better at emissions and the piston is like a diamond and turns like a clock. But the lack of torque makes it better cause you can redline it. (according to the dealer).

 

I didn't pre-order at Magnussen Mazda but I got mine for MSRP.
I just went there and bought one.
