Hey everyone, i just got my 8 about 3 months ago and never had a chance to get on here and post. i see you just had a meet, i missed it I would like to come to one, even though my car is still stock. please let me know when you get something together again.
It looks like you guys cruised to the fairy again. I was going to come but couldnt have gotten there til after 3 and figured everyone would be on the cruise by then.

guys I have officially purchased and LS1 engine & a t56 tranny from a salvage corvette......
Now I will be in the process of R&D with a local mechanic on fab the parts i will need to mount the engine in the RX-8!!!!

I am hopping to have all finished by next summer!
Now it gets interesting. From what I have read the LS1 is an all aluminum block with a total weight including trans of 450-500lbs. How does this compare to the stock RX8 weight of motor and trans.
Also, the engine will product 350HP in stock form with a whopping 360-375 ft/lb of torque. How are you going to deal with the traction control? obviously, you will need a stand alone ECU. Sounds like a great project.
BTW What are you doing with the RX8 motor???

if you would like to add another rx8 to the local scene, i would love to chill with you guys. i just got my 8 like a month ago and ive been trying to find some more people here locally with them. im in the florence area by the way.
