Beatiful set up dude--loving it!
Thanks. We are running a special 5PK belt that is 33% stronger than "standard". It was fine on the engine dyno, but yes, that was with a smaller blower, although running at full noise.

Initially we will be running the larger blower more "lazily". If we need more ribs, then we just make 6 or 8 rib pullies. You can see on Danny's blower drive pulley there is room for more ribs if needed. Time will tell.

Note, Danny's 2.8 litre setup does not show the "special" stronger belt.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Along with extra intake air, you may start to see restrictions in exhaust flow as limiting factors, as well as exhaust heat during extended sessions of play. The extra power may come with a few necessary tweaks.

But its nice to know the potential is there, isn't it?
Yep - all good points. I just wanted to allow the headroom for more to be there, and not let the compressor be the limiting factor after people have put their hard-earned into it, and then are greedy for more...

Cheers,
Hymee.

No potential "suitors" for distribution have given me a value proposition at this stage, so I'm happy to deal direct with folks. At some point someone has to pay for the middleman. At the current stage I'm at with all I have invested, I'm not really sure it should be me who pays for that. If it is not me, then it has to be the purchaser. But I'd rather y'all get it for a more reasonable cost. Who knows what will happen over time in this respect.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Few questions about lubrication:
Top-right taped hole is for oil return line?
Lubrication of internal compressor gears is separate and self-contained or feeded via these oil lines?

YuppY,

Engine oil is fed to the compressor gears via these oil lines.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymlee---do you make your own pulleys?
I am looking for a 7 or 8 rib set up. On track i do get a little belt slippage in the higher rpms after it gets nice and warm. This happened after i went with the big boy pulley from Cam.
With the lubrication issues being discovered and the fact that it is always a good idea to lower the tension on the e-shaft nose is further motivating me to do this.
Our pulley set up is different of course. Do you have a close up of your ilder arm/pulley. You know we have a manual one.
thanks for the help mate and once again that sure is a beatiful set up--really like that intake!
You did seal up the vdi didnt ya?

VDI is still operational, but we can change that in the flash if it proves necessary. Otherwise cable-ties or fencing wire LOL.

Everything you see on my kit has been made in-house, except for some obvious things like the compressor itself, tensioner, bolts, belt and the oil line and fittings. There are some things you can't see, that are also made outside, but these are also obvious things like the 3rd timing gear, layshaft bearings and oil seals.

I'm happy to supply custom pulleys. I'll need a drawing. All the reasons you are speaking of that are "negative" in relation to your belt setup are the reasons I made radical changes to my design about 2 years ago into this process. Yes, I might have lost "market share" to my friend Cam, but I believe I made the correct decision in terms of providing a quality kit that will stand the test of time. I was very worries about having an extra pulley swing off the front of the crank. It is a large bending moment way out there, and the thing people don't realise is that the first "support" on the crank is not at the front timing cover oil seal, but a number of inches further back in the front housing. When you look at a crank you know what I mean. Couple this to the huge tension required to prevent slippage and you start bending cranks. Have you ever noticed the crank angle sensor and the signal plate have come into contact?? I was quite worried the crank flex was responsible. Not a problem any more for me, as I'm running off the "normal" pulley, which is the rear-most one anyway, and the tension is already required to be present for the WP and Generator, but just a little bit more tension now all controlled by the auto-tensioner. Plus I get excellent wrap on the S/C drive pulley (over 180 degrees!) due to the idler arrangement.

The close up of the tensioner is available to Pettit owners when they upgrade to my drive system. It just requires the purchase of the whole kit. LOL

Cheers,
Hymee.

going to make me work for it huh? lol Ok mate!
We have never had any flex going on that I am aware of, nor have there ever been any identified e shaft probs--again that I am aware of. It wasnt until I swapped over to the larger pulley that I had any belt slippage at all. With the regular one it was good.
Just trying to use as much preventage torward possible probs tricks that I can.
I may have to hit ya up on those pulleys--would need the crank (looks like a ford 4 bolt to me) the sc nose and the IDLER (lol)

On the oil feed source, I currently have the Racing Beat adapter for mechanical gauge sensors. Will this kit prevent me from using it? Or, will there be room once you relocate the filter?

I can't see that being a problem. In fact, it removes the need for the small spacer block we provide which performs the equivalent function. You would obviously need to Tee and plumb a line from there to the blower feed. Our line is the correct length for the "reference" design, and I guess it might be possible to supply the fittings and a slightly longer piece of braid. It might just be as easy for the end user to source these off-the shelf fittings/lines and make their own to suit for such "custom" installs.

How does that sound?

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymee: I'm moving to Brisbane in like 2 months, although I will not own an RX8 anymore (or any car for that matter) If I stop by the shop, would I be able to get a ride? please? Pretty please? =D

Old thread?

Been working on the kit for a long time, but its still a very new thread. The first few kits are shipping shortly (I'm on the list for the first batch).

Yeah.

Chances are, Mark would be able to make one to fit your car. But I don't think he has a prototype 6SP AT there, never know though.

He's a busy guy right now, but he'll probably post up an answer in this thread.

That is only 'cause where we went that night at SSX didn't have Bundy

http://www.bundabergrum.com.au

But I did have a couple of Jack's last night as a matter of fact.

Sounds perfect. I would go the Tee route and ask for a slightly longer braided line. My only problem right now, is I don't have a blower on order!
